APPLIQUE DIARY: December Finishes!

This past month has found me working on a number of things including my applique projects. I am close to finishing my current projects. I thought I was going to be able to start my Christmas projects, but that is not realistic so I have made a new pull of possible new starts that I will share with you.

RECENT FINISHES!

July & June A-door-naments (“Stars” & “Strawberries”) designed by Shabby Fabrics are now done!

It felt real good to finish up these two wallhangings from this summer. I like both, but the Stars are just so cute that they can’t help but be a favorite of mine. This series is called A-Door-naments designed by Shabby Fabrics. Only two left in this series!

BINDING WORTHY

A Year of Words – Winter (January) designed by Shabby Fabrics

Teal! “Winter” has been sitting in my To Do pile for weeks. I started it last winter and finished the quilting earlier this fass. Last weekend, I finally pulled the thread to match the binding. I really love this display of snow and winter things. I am looking forward to finishing the binding so I can display it in the New Year.

QUILTING NEEDED

Blooming Stars designed by Shabby Fabrics

After getting my second sewing machine and table setup, I have really been rolling forward on my machine applique projects. Last week I finished up appliquing my “Blooming Stars”, “Blooming Sunflowers”, and “A Year in Words: You’re My Sunshine”.

Over the weekend I was able to baste all threewall hangings as well as pull matching threads. They are ready to quilt.

STITCHING REQUIRED

Blooming Daisies by Shabby Fabrics

My “Blooming Daisies” just need the magenta purple and magenta pink flowers appliqued and it will be ready for some quilting as well

A Year in Words: Summer designed by Shabby Fabrics

“Summer” has three colors left to stitch – pink (bucket), purple (bucket handle), and teal (umbrella). I normally use a blanket stitch for my applique even the small stuff like the bucket handle. I will probably only do a width of 1.4 with a 1.8 length.

POSSIBLE NEW STARTS!

Possible new starts

While I had originally planned on starting by Blooming Pointsettas and A Year in Words: Christmas, I have changed my mind. Since I still will be working on Christmas projects with my cross stitch well into January, I do not want to do it with my applique too.

Therefore, I put the Christmas back and pulled the one January I had left and three February projects as well as the last Adoornaments project – Pot of Gold. You will know next month if I ended up changing my mind back, but I don’t think so.

Wrap Up

With Christmas next week, this week found me mailing Christmas cards and Christmas presents to those who I won’t see this year. Lines are forever long but I am grateful that I am even able to stand in line.

Chai Latte anyone?

I thought I would leave you with a picture of my biggest helper, Nala, attempting to steal my drink. She couldn’t figure it out (Thank Goodness!).
