Can you say road trip?! I got back last night from a road trip to Paso Robles, California. Such a fun area. I enjoyed every moment.
It was super fun to hang with old colleagues as we celebrated the life of Spencer Keiser another friend and colleague.
With me being gone for most of the week, I didn’t get much quilting done. I will be linking up with Carol at Quilt Schmilt for this week’s To Do Tuesday. Check out her blog.
Under the Needle Last Week
I spent more time working on some new 10 inch design boards then I did sewing. I did work on the finishing of my December Gnome Is Where the Heart Is until I got distracted by the need for more design boards. I finished two this week.

Afterthoughts
After such a productive week last time, I was a bit surprised when I realized today that I didn’t get much done this past week. I really thought I had done more, but I guess that is better than beating myself up over nothing. Unless you count shop hopping as quilting. LOL!
Paso Robles has three quilt stores which is such a delight. If I had more time, there is at least six more stores withing 25 miles of Paso Robles. A true quilters heaven. Unfortunately, the purpose of my trip to PR was not a quilty one. I just squeezed in wine and quilting for the fun of it. I was dying to visit the spa, but just not enough time.
Last time I was in Paso Robles, Birch Fabrics aka Fabricworm was not open. I didn’t realize that they manufacture their own fabrics. I was delighted to pick up these California inspired fabrics and this cool wide back and solids. They gave me a Charley Harper bag and some free fat quarters. I must have spent over a magically number. I certainly did not turn down anything free. I love the feel of their fabric which is 100% organic cotton. I had forgotten there are a number of cotton farms in the area along with the vineyards. Now I have to decide what to make with this beautiful soft fabric.
Good luck everyone on your quilty projects this week. I will check in with you next week. Feel free to leave a comment and / or jump over to Carol’s website (link above) to check out all the quilt goodies people are working on.
Happy Quilting!
Peggy Stockwell back from Paso Robles, CA
Paso Robles looks delightful! How cool that you were able to purchase fabric made from organic cotton, and yay for the free bag and fat quarters! The wine sounds interesting too. 😉
Thanks Linda! I enjoyed my time there.
Yummy fabrics! It looks like you enjoyed your trip 😉 I love your design boards too.
Thanks Frederique. Working on a few more boards today. Trying to build up my stash. Love laying out my blocks on them.
