Welcome to this week of To Do Tuesday where I will share all of my quilty goodness that I worked on last week and what I hope to accomplish this week. I plan to link up with Carol over at Quilt Schmilt. Jump over and check out her site and her To Do Tuesday linkup.
What Was Under the Needle Last Week
It was a busy week. I had a wonderful Zoom day with my Quilty Friends ~ Mary Elizabeth, Teri, and Toni. Love those days chatting and showing each other what we are working on. I also squeezed another couple of times to work on a few more things.
- I was able to cut four more blocks for my #100days100blocks2024 quilt. Once the challenge finished, you kind of lose momentum and focus 🧘♀️
- As always, I work on my leaders & enders project which was Pat Sloan’s March 2023 project which I call Daydreamers Four Patch
- I loved how my April Monthly Color Challenge Block turned out. The blues were awesome
- Finished the Spring Basket from Scrappiness is Happiness SAL which meant ->
- I finished Row 1 of the Scrappiness is Happiness SAL. This Row is really big so it is hard to get a closeup.
I had to do a run to the quilt store to pick up sashing and borders for the Scrappiness is Happiness quilt. I did not realize that I would need 3.25 yards of background and I decided that it was important for this to be all the same to make the quilt more cohesive. I liked how row one turned out.
Finishes
I had a small finish this wee with these adorable coasters use Kaffe Fassett and grunge fabrics. They are so cute!

Afterthoughts
I like keeping my list of what’s next for each of my active WIPS in order to know what to do next, but I have been slowly migrating my focus to accomplishing one thing each time I set foot in the sewing room. This past week, one day was to finish the coasters, another to assemble the first row of Scrappiness is Happiness so I could pick out the colors for the Spring Basket block to finish off row 1. Another was to sew the Spring Basket block and then finish row 1. Yesterday I picked cutting #100days blocks.
Next month I am going to experiment with this list being my monthly goals list instead of active WIP list. Well that is still all the active WIPS, but what I planned to accomplish from that list for the month.
It is hard to believe that we only have a little over a week left of April. Where did the time go?!
I have definitely fallen off the wagon of working on my projects once a day. This online surface pattern design online class takes a lot of energy and is intense. So much homework. While this week is the last week of new material, we will have four more weeks of meetings and support. I am feeling pretty good with my progress but I have yet to scan my artwork into Adobe Illustrator. Maybe today. For someone like me (ADHD personality), it has taken a lot of effort to stay on task which means my other things are not getting the attention they normally do.
It reminds me of when I use to work at a J O B. You just don’t have enough time or energy to do everything, so you do things in shifts. For me those shifts were weeks or months at a time. I rarely am able to do all 10 goal areas of my life in a single day. I have fallen back into daily planning to make sure I don’t miss anything important. A few things have gotten away from me, but not as much as last year when I did this class.
Taking the Immersion class a second time has been amazing. It helped me realize that I DID learn a lot last year. Even cooler as Jen from Patterns by Jen (Monthly Color Challenge) is taking the class just as Valerie of Snowball Quilt Company is taking the class this year. Last year, Alison Glass was taking the class with us. So much knowledge and I can’t wait to apply it to designing and printing some of my own designs at the Spoonflower website. Then make a quilt with my own fabric. This is a big bucket 🪣 list item for me.
What I am learning can be applied to so many of my crafts and hobbies!
Happy quilting everyone. Thank you for stopping by. Last thing I wanted to do was share was a picture of my grandson Shaun with his girlfriend Ruby before Senior Prom last weekend. My little man is almost a full grown man. 😢 Talk about time flying!!! Have a great week.

Those coasters are adorable. Grunge is always a fun choice! I’m impressed with your commitment to the Adobe Illustrator class. I know my experience isn’t with the same program, but I always felt proud that I taught myself Adobe PageMaker when I was working. I was the data input/newspaper editor at my church, and I was the “expert” for both programs, which was a blessing and a curse – lol! PageMaker was replaced by InDesign, and I’m not sure I would have the focus to be able to learn it, so I admire you for your dedication.
