I missed all of you last week but I really didn’t have anything to share as I was off on vacation. Had a great time. I shared some with my Friday Floss post so check it out if you want to know more.
I will be linking up with Carol @ Quilt Schmilt this week for To Do Tuesday Linkup party. Join us!
What Got Done This Last Two Weeks
While I have been gettings lots done, it hasn’t really been in the sewing studio stuff. I was so thankful to have a Quilt Zoom day last Friday to help kick start myself after the road trip. Yet, I didn’t go back into my sewing studio until yesterday when I cut my Monthly Color Challenge block (not pictured). Let’s take a look:
- After finishing the January cottage, I have continued working on making 8 of every temperature block. I only have 3 more magic 8 to make! I finished making (4 x 8) 32 this last couple of weeks. I have made a total of 152 2.5inch HST so far. Whoo hoo!
- I also continued making HST for my Sweet Childhood Memories pieced border. I was thrilled to get done to only one to go. 72 out of 80 are done baby!
- I wrapped up another set of 4 of my leaders and enders project DayDreamer 4 patch that I started LAST March for the Block a Day challenge with Pat Sloan. They turned out so cute. I laid out the next four blocks. My twosies are sitting next to the machine.
- Last Friday, I was a little unprepared for Quilt Zoom day. I had nothing precut except for whatever I had on my cart (temperature HST, border HST, Leaders & Enders project). So at lunch, I ran into my cutting room to cut two more 100 days blocks. It felt good to get those done.
- While on the road, I worked diligently on my Queen of Diamonds block 2-2. I only have to sew the end units on to make it a diamond. Another win!
- February Monthly Color Challenge fabric pulled & cut.
As I reflect, I feel good about what did get done. There has been some major progress on some very boring fronts. That is a total win!

Afterthoughts
I have a few projects that are close to being DONE. It would make me feel very accomplished if I wrapped up those projects. Now wait. I still feel accomplished so I will give myself some grace.
I started a online course this week and was doing my “homework” before our first live class this past weekend so I would be prepared. I tried to take this class last year but I was behind by three weeks from the get go. This is a very intense class for the next 8 weeks and I am determined to be on it this year which means, not as much sewing time as I work on my homework.
I had a goal to work on a Foundation Paper Piecing project this year and found another free pattern on Fat Quarter Shop’s website. (They have tons of free patterns as well as Pat Sloan). I decided that I wanted to use my new happy mail from Alison Glass (Sunprints 2024) for this project. They have available to purchase pads of blocks to use so I went ahead and bought those versus printing my own. I could have printed my own because they are all simple blocks and I have EQ8 which can print them. The only fabric I needed to purchase was background fabric (black). FQS did two color quilt with 4 inch blocks. I am doing a rainbow quilt with 12 inch blocks. I messed around with the colors last night in my Goodnotes app. I just kept duplicating the color page and messing with the colors. The final decision will come when I get my order. I am going to call this project #Venti12QAL.
Meanwhile, I need to finish working on my February projects. I love planning! I know, I know. I didn’t need another new quilt project. Did I mention “squirrel”!
Happy quilting,
