Welcome to this week’s edition of To Do Tuesday. I will be linking up with Carol at Quilt Schmidt again this week. Check out the cool projects linked up.
What Got Done This Week
It has been a busy week. Friday was another Zoom Quilting day. I only worked on the 2024 Temperature quilt for the whole day. (That is a first for me to only work on one project for hours at a time.) Here is what got done this week:
- I did my thread pull for Gnome is Where the Hear Is.
- First color I used was yellow. The yellow worked great to machine applique Gnome is Where the Heart is, Blooming Pointsettas, and Christmas – A Year in Words.
- I finised all the roofs and tree trunks for the 2024 SJ Temperature Cottage quilt.
- Cut up and marked my first 16 squares for the Magic Eight half square triangles for the Temperature quilt
- Completed my first 3 cold colors.
- Cut up and marked all the squares for my half square triangle pieced border for the Sweet Childhood Memories quilt to make 80 hst.
- I quilted my Teal Batik table runner as well as cut the binding
- Finished my EPP project Queen of Diamonds block 2-1
- Started my EPP project Queen of Diamonds block 2-2
I like the fact that I was able to work on a variety of projects this week.

Afterthoughts
Another great week. I was supposed to quilt one day this past week. While I meant long arm in my head, I ended up quilting a tablerunner instead. I can’t say I am disappointed. I like how it turned out.
I am still working on sorting my quilt tops into different piles. Ones that still need borders, backings, or ready to quilt. I have no idea why I haven’t done my Project Done Start post yet. (Insert eye roll here). Need to get it done this week.
Just a reminder that the 2024 Temperature Cottage free quilt pattern can be found on Fat Quarter Shop’s website. If you are looking for a fun temperature quilt for this year, this definitely qualifies. Most people use rainbow, but I decided to use Alison Glass’ Chrysanthemum collection (which can be found at her website alisonglass.com). The roof material is from that collection. Just a little advice, you should probably buy a minimum of 1/2 yard of all the colors that are in the midrange. You could possbily get away with 1/4 yard or fat quarter for all the others. If you decide to do with solids, then you can start with a fat quarter. I don’t like to have more than 2 degrees per color so I have 22 different fabrics. I also recommend using high temperatures for a nice variety and to use a background color (in my case white) instead of doing hst with high/low. It is way harder to stay on top of it. Simple is better if you really want to finish.
I am trying a new approach in my quilty planner. I am designating Sew Days, Quilt Days, EPP days, and applique days. Last week worked out pretty good so we will be doing it again this week.
Meanwhile I am trying to update my WIP list which has kind of gotten out of control. LOL! Hope your week is productive. Don’t forget to enjoy your passion and not lose it because you don’t give yourself some grace.

Wow ,you have got the year planned well! I always get distracted by wonderful new projects and
don’t get a complete list until mid year! Can’t wait to see your great progress!
You had a good week so it proves your project organizing system is working! I have a temperature quilt project planned that I hope to start on maybe later this month. So far I’ve only been recording the temperatures. DSM or Longarm as long as something gets quilted it’s good! I know that is often my kyrptonite so if I can get something quilted each month I’d be ahead of my normal game.
That teal tablerunner is pretty! Also love the vase with red flowers. All your projects look so interesting, and sounds like you are enjoying them all. How nice that your house roofs are ready to go on your temperature quilt. Have a great rest of the week Peggy!
