Hello Quilters! Welcome to another edition of To Do Tuesday where I am linking up with Carol over at Quilt Schmilt. Check it out!
What Got Done This Week
This past week was a Zoom Quilting Day with my quilty friends which is always fun as well as motivating. I am always grateful after every one of “dates”. It never fails to jumpstart me for a couple of weeks! With that little jumpstart, this is what I accomplished this week.
- Continued working on the Queen of Diamonds block 1-2
- Completed block August 27th of the 365 Block Challenge
- Worked on finding the material and fusible for the stars for my Patriotic Table Runner flag blocks
- Finished blocks 61 & 62 as well as cutting 63-65 for the 100 days 100 blocks 2023
- Sewed up Block 18 (blue) block for Section 4 of the Sweet Childhood Memories QAL and even put together section 4.
- Put together my hand quilting kit for the Summer Baskets and drew the quilting lines on my first pillow top.
- Assembled rows 1-3 for Dorothy’s quilt (no photo)
- First border for Rainbow Half Square Triangle quilt border cut and second border fabric ordered. Binding and Backing pulled and ready. (No photo)
- Added quilting lines to Shamrock Ridge and basted the edge
Overall pretty darn productive week. I loved every minute of this week. It feels good to touch on my many current wips.

Afterthoughts
The creative process has always feed my soul. I am guessing that when I just sew (while creative) just doesn’t fill my creative needs as much as pulling fabrics, planning projects, deciding on pieced borders, or even quilting the quilt. How about you? What feeds your soul?
I was thinking about what part of this process brings joy and it is the gifting of those finished projects. It is especially satisfying to give to someone who has no one in their life to give the gift of a homemade item. It doesn’t seem to matter if it is a quilt, potholders, or a baby burp cloth. I find that most are touched by the fact that someone took the time to make it for them. In our fast paced world, don’t forget a set of coasters can bring joy as much as a king sized quilt. A home cooked meal seems to bring many that same amount of joy! Spread the love! Bring a smile to someone’s face.

Beautiful projects as always Peggy! I think you’re right, the “giving” is the best part. I think about the person’s reaction while I’m sewing, and it adds so much to the process. Cali looks quite happy in that cuddly spot!
