What Got Done this Week

I got a little distracted this week and haven’t been in the sewing studio for a few days which means that I am now one day behind in my two SALS. On the bright side, I have cut 100 days through block 42.

For the 365 Block Challenge, I have finished blocks through August 6th but cut through August 11th. Look at all these cute 3 and half inch blocks.

I continued using Daydreamer blocks as leaders and enders project as well as downloaded August Monthly Color Challenge. I also changed my rotary blades this week. Why do I wait? Life is so much easier with new blades.

The only other project I worked on this week was putting together some more units on my Queen of Diamond English Paper Piecing SAL project.

Queen of Diamond WIP Blk 1-2 as of Aug 3rd

Afterthoughts

I had a great birthday weekend with a trip to the coast. I shared some pictures on last Floss Friday if you want to take a peek. I hope to take another trip to the coast this week. Still trying to fill my beach needs.

I received happy mail this week from Shabby Fabrics. They sent the July BOM for On Wander Lane. So cute! I also signed up for another BOM that starts in November with adorable Gnome wall hangings. Like I need more to do. LOL!

I hope this week I will get a head on my two SALs so I can work on some different projects. I am getting a little tired of working on these. I NEED some variety. Also still need to sign up for classes for PIQF in October. The other thing that happened was signing up for my first retreat – but it’s a “craft” retreat meaning you can work on any craft you want. My sister Dorothy asked me to go with her. It sounds nice.

Simba and Nala are being their usual selves. Found Nala carrying around Mini-Charm packs that she dug out of a bin. Not sure what she was planning on doing with those. Simba and I had a disagreement over the straight pins that he kept trying to carry off. That boy scares me. I keep imagining him hurting himself with those. I moved them to a new place that I hope he won’t find them.

Good luck everyone on all of your quilty projects!!!!

  1. That Darn Cat! To Simba and Nala both!! Love the fabric meme! You’ll get those SAL’s! Gnomes? I heard gnomes! It’s a must!! Have a great day!!

  2. Peggy you are more patient than I am with 3-1/2 inch blocks – those are so pretty! Your upcoming retreat sounds fun. Love seeing your kitties. Lol on Nala! Simba must be kin to my Jack. Just yesterday he was batting some of my straight pins around! A few months ago he actually ate some wrapping ribbon from my sewing room but fortunately was OK. Cali Girl is so pretty – they are all gorgeous cats.
