This past week was fairly productive considering I had two very large projects in the mix. Zoom Quilty Friday with my quilty friends (Toni, Teri, & Mary Elizabeth) allowed me to make significant progress on the Sunshine quilt assembly and Heart blocks.

Weekly List for 3/1-3/7/2022

This week is a busy week for me. I will be out of town at a hockey tournament from Thursday through Sunday. That only leaves me with 3 days to work on stuff and today is almost over. I decided not to add any thing new to the list. I am just carrying over unfinished items from last week. I am passing on the breakout of Sunshine Quilt.

#1 – Finish Binding Jack Be Quick Quilt

I really should have worked on this yesterday but ended up at the car wash (something else I had procrastinated on for two months) for my poor truck. It needed a spa day desperately. I ended up at the car wash all afternoon and significantly poorer, but the truck looks great!

This quilt is my first bed quilt that I started in 2008 (I think). I had precut the binding when I added borders last year. Sunday night when I was attaching it, I had a freak out moment wondering if the binding was cut 2 1/2 inches or 2 inches. So either I fixed it and don’t remember or I cut it the 2 inches I need if I want to attach it by machine. I haven’t been liking my corner so I am thinking I will hand stitch the corners and machine bind all the rest. I am still working out my techniques for machine binding.

#2 – Assemble 2 more rows (out of 9) for the Sunshine Quilt

I wanted to type finish assembling the rows, but that just is definitely a recipe for failure and who needs that. It turns out that I am assembling a total of 81 blocks in a 9 by 9 layout. Big quilt! So assembling 2 rows will be a big stretch but doable. If I am successful, that will leave only 3 rows to assemble. I am loving how this 2 block quilt is turning out. My quilty friends comment on its brightness. A perfect spring quilt!

#3 – Sew last 2 Heart blocks

I only have two more heart blocks to assemble for my February table runner. I love how the first four have turned out. I am very excited about the cut-offs as a future project.

#4 – Find binding for Over & Under Quilt

Well I was thinking there was no rush for this project, but it has popped up as my Quilt for March. You may remember that I am participating in the annual APQ Resolution and for me that means I am supposed to FINISH the quilts. So finding that binding wherever it is stashed is even more important. Sounds like some reorganization is in my future as well…

#5 – Make Label for the Over & Under Quilt

Now this pops to the top of the list as well right? This is easily done if I focus on it.

#6 – Load Black & Gold quilt back on Long Arm

The Black & Gold quilt was my February APQResolution quilt. During February I was able to add borders and find a binding. I am at the quilting stage. I even picked out the quilt pattern already which should be adorable.

#7 – IG QuiltFest 2022

Every March on Instagram for at least the last several years, I have participated in a month long photo challenge call #igquiltfest2022 hosted by @amycreativeside. So I need to post for each day’s topic this week.

  2. Hi Peggy – you have such beautiful projects. That little hearts mini is beautiful, and I love the label. Enjoyed the peek at Jack Be Quick and Black & Gold quilt. The Sunshine Quilt really is a perfect spring quilt! Glad you were able to get your truck all cleaned up, although I sympathize with the time lost in the sewing room.
Thanks for linking up with To Do Tuesday!
