To Do Tuesday #37

My word of 2023 is ENRICH. I want to spend this year doing things that enrich my life. One of the things that I chose was switching over to a digital planner. Of course, this is a slow process as I am definitely a paper and pen gal in general. I still get my bills in the mail even though I pay everything online. So this is an interesting journey in general. BUT moving my Monthly goals, Weekly Goals, and Daily To Do’s to the digital planner has been absolutely awesome! I love “lassoing” an item I didn’t do yesterday and dragging it to what day I think I will do it. Or duplicating an entry (such as To Do Tuesday) and just dragging it to the next Tuesday. With that said, I feel like this week has been particularly productive. Obviously, I still didn’t complete everything on my list, but I sure got pretty far!

Welcome to TO DO TUESDAY which is being hosted by Carol @ Quilt Schmilt of Canada.

What Got Done This Week!

With all my Quilt-A-Longs, as you can imagine, I am behind. LOL! I am currently doing two with Pat Sloan – Tula Pink Butterfly Quilt and Sweet Childhood Memories (block Wednesday). I am also participating in Lori Holt’s Scrappiness is Happiness QAL (which Pat is also doing). So here is what I got done this week.

  1. I finished all 10 blocks from the Butterfly – week 2. Although the night I cut, I forgot to cut two of each colorway. This was cut 4 1/2 inch block called Chunky Cross. This quilt uses Tula Pink`s True Colors collection.
  2. I got all 8 blocks cut for Week 3 of the Butterfly quilt – Floating Cross. Since I cut this block the same time as Week 2, I didn’t cut two of each block. Over the weekend, I remedy that little set back.
  3. Scrappiness is Happiness for week 11 – Scrappy Cross Roads is 48 – 2 1/2 inch squares. They are all supposed to be different. I am sticking with my Alison Glass fabric collection. So I ended up having to cut a whole bunch for this one. But I am now ready to go.
  4. After finishing week 11 of Scrappiness is Happiness, Week 12 Stripe was a breeze! I just had to cut my interfacing square and put all my leftover strips – 1.5, 2.5, & 3.5 on a design board near the sewing machine.
  5. Now that block led to my pattern for my February Mug Rugs. I am going to do leftover 4.5 inch blocks and then applique a heart on top of them. It should be awesome.
  6. Which reminds me, I found the PERFECT pattern from MSQC – Love Note – to do my February potholders. Obviously I had to figure out my own sizes because they don’t give instructions for a 7 1/2 inch block (my preferred size for potholders) I was going to follow their instructions and swap out hst but I didn’t like how it looked so I went with what I liked. Now I will have two sets of potholders when I get done. I got two test blocks sewed up already.
  7. For Sweet Childhood Memories, I finished week 2 – Best Friends
  8. For Sweet Childhood Memories, I finished week 3 – Books. I love the Tula Pink Pinkerville fabrics with her Gray Stitch (from Homemade) as my background. Such a perfect combination.
  9. I finished adding ALL of my borders to Mama Gypsy. I love the look but not the slight wave that is in the last pieced border. This fabric is from Tula Pink`s Zuma collection and a solid black for background.
  10. I found my border fabric for my Pat Sloan May 2020 Rainbow HST quilt. I also picked out an inner white on white border as well as a gold fabric for binding and a cute strawberry on white for the back. This quilt is 100% Alison Glass Fabrics.
  11. Finished round 2 of my EPP Lost & Found Block 21. Only one more round left for this block! I am using Kaffee Fassett fabric for this quilt.
  12. Fabric pulled and cut for February Monthly Color Challenge using Alison Glass fabrics.

To Do List #37 for Week Feb 7th – Feb 13th

Stop Shaming Quote

I found this quote on instagram and had to save it. Take note people! Celebrate your accomplishments. Our playlist or to do list are just a road map of what we would like to accomplish. Do not punish yourself if you don’t hit 100%.

Here is my list for this week:

  1. Sew all 8 blocks for Week 3 of Tula Pink Butterfly Quilt
  2. Sew Blocks 11 & 12 for Scrappiness is Happiness QAL
  3. Cut both blocks 4 & 5 for the Sweet Childhood Memories QAL
  4. Assemble Row 9 for my White Hawaiian Quilt
  5. Assemble Rows 3 & 4 of my Churn Dash Quilt
  6. Bind my March Table Runner (and be done!)
  7. Quilt Blooming Daffodils
  8. Bind Blooming Daffodils (for a finish)
  9. Quilt Mama Gypsy (before I change my mind and remove those borders to fix the wave.)
  10. Assemble my potholders
  11. Sew Feb Monthly Color Challenge block
  12. Be Happy :p

I’m in town all week so I am hopeful that I can get most of this done. I would love to have my first quilt finish of 2023 this week. We shall see how it goes.

Wrap Up

In keeping with ENRICHing my life this year, I signed up with Harry & David for monthly Flower Bulb club. I never realized how much joy blooming flowers really bring me. I am definitely enjoying this little Christmas present for myself.

Simba has diligently been assisting with today’s post. Unfortunately, I didn’t get any pictures of him as I spent one hand on the keyboard and one hand defending the keyboard. LOL!

Good luck on your projects this week!

  1. You had a great week and have an aggressive list for the week ahead! As for the quote, I don’t mind a little “healthy” shaming–I find it motivating!–but yes, be proud of what we get done, too!

  2. Peggy you have once again astounded me with all that you did get done this week. I love seeing the photos of your WIPs and can imagine the fun you have had picking out the fabrics for each project. Im so impressed that you thought to gift yourself such a wonderful subscription. Your monthly flower bulbs are sure to brighten your day and your home with the pretty blooms. I’m glad Simba is keeping your post on the straight and narrow. Thank you for linking with To Do Tuesday.

  3. Oh Peggy I love this post! What brand is your digital planner? I am still thinking about trying one. I spent a big $5.74 on a 5-subject 6″x9″ planner, so I’m not heavily invested – lol! I love that you subscribed to the plant of the month! Simba looks like he’s still undecided about it. 😉 I love the colorful photo array of your projects. Have a great week!

    1. Hi Linda, I bought one with cross stitch planning pages off etsy by quirkystitches. She has been very kind and helpful as I work my way through it. Thank you for your encouragement!
