To Do Tuesday #193

Welcome back Quilty Friends! This week has been another busy week (surprise!) A couple of trips over the river to one of my local quilt stores. Once to pick up my machine for a Workshop on Saturday. Then again yesterday to pick up a foot for my machine that I had ordered but wasn’t there yet. Last Thursday was a quilt guild meeting. Sunday ended up being just a reading day to unwind from a crazy week.

I plan to link up with Carol @ Quilt Schmilt for To Do Tuesday Linkup.

Workshop New Start: Wedge Star Ruler with Sharon Moore from Sharon’s Attic

Star Wedge Project: Freelancer

Saturday was Clark County Quilters Guild Workshop at the American Legion. I was the lucky receiptent of this workshop by someone who ended up not being able to go. At first glance, I was thinking this project was going to be over my head. I found myself prepping for class Friday night after picking up my travel machine during Sit n Sew Quilt Zoom. The class project (which I do not have a picture of this week) is nine blocks (3×3). In class we learned how to use Studio 180 Designs Wedge Star Ruler as well as Tucker Trimmer. We made all the diamond units during class and finished the center block of the quilt.

We learned how to cut diamonds and wedges. How to sew them together and then trim them up. Then assembling our star blocks including corners using the ruler. I learned so much. So glad I was gifted with this class. I look forward to finishing.

WIP Update

While I spent a lot of time in the sewing room earlier in the week, I did more cutting and prepping then sewing. Let’s take a look.

Starbright Paisleys Strip Club pattern by Cozy Quilt Designs
Starbright Paisleys 4 patches

This is my new leaders and enders project. I am still sewing my four patches together for the first 8 blocks. It’s going well.

Tula Pink Super Nova EPP quilt in Floral Reef colored by Pink Door Fabrics

I joined a new hand stitching group this week on Wednesday. I wasn’t sure what to take so opted to bring my Super Nova block 1-1. I attached one more star and prepped one more ready to be attached. Yea!

August Monthly Color Challenge by Patterns by Jen

This month’s color is tan and cream. I spent quite a bit of time in my fabric bins looking for Alison Glass tan fabric. She doesn’t do a lot of tans and browns. I ended up finding it in some happy mail from June from her Camp collection. I ended up pulling a complimentary cream from the same collection.

Happy Mail & Haul

Did a little shopping and got a little happy mail this week. Some call it Enable Vision.

I received a new McKenna Ryan applique kit: Welcome Winter as well as my quarterly project from Sweetwater. The Sweetwater projects this quarter are a project bag and art project.

I picked up my first machine embroidery projects: Kimberbell’s Autumn Acres and OESD’s August Spree Club. I also picked up the Bernina Notion of the Month. I have wanted to get the applique foot. I was happy to get 25% off.

Musings

While this next week is busy, it will not be as busy has the past month has been. I am looking forward to some time in the sewing room. My room is a little chaotic with all the outside classes I have been doing. I just want some time to put it back together and organize myself. Then work on my projects and maybe finish something. Wouldn’t that be nice.

Well everyone have a great week!
