Project Updates

This week I spent as much time organizing fabrics as I did sewing in the sewing room. Meanwhile slow sewing was found in hand often!

WIPGO Project: Queen of Diamonds by Pink Door Fabrics

I have been working on completing this block from the Queen of Diamonds english paper piecing quilt. It is month 3, block 4 (or 3-4 for short). I was excited that I finally got to start attaching the my finished units to the center. I love this adorable Owl from Tula Pink.

My WIPGO goal was to finish an EPP block and this is the one I picked. If I can keep it up, I should be able to finish it by end of month. Working on this has reminded me of the joy of slow stitching.

WIPGO Project: Not My Kitten Wall Hanging by Riley Blake
Not My Kitten WIP

I finished quilting in the ditch this week on this fun small wall hanging. Just need to trim and bind to reach my WIPGO goal.

Stars Aligned by Strip Club
Under the Needle: Last of Stars Aligned flying geese units

Finished sewing and ironing my leftover units that I will be making into a pieced border. I still need to trim the last of them.

JOY Wallhanging by Riley Blake
JOY wall hanging ready for quilting

This project is from the same series as the Kitten wallhanging. I finally got some fusible web so I could draw out, cut, and iron on the items for this wall hanging. It is all ready to be layered and quilted/appliqued now.

January 2026 Monthly Color Challenge hosted by PBJ

I forgot to take a picture, but I now have my block out to be sewn for this month. The color is olive green (not my favorite color). It is a simple spool block which is always fun.

I was able to check off a number of items off last week’s list:

  • Where oh Where is my sewing table insert for my 770? The hunt is still on.

Musings

It was a good week. I have a good plan which is flexible. Gotta love being retired. I am still working with the just 15 minutes philosophy. This creates forward movement no matter how slow. Mentally, it is a good place to be. I have to remember to give myself grace. So do you!

Have a great week my quilty friends. I look forward to chatting next week.

  1. Peggy you’ve made great progress on your projects. I love that kitty hanging and the EPP project is stunningly gorgeous. Thank you for sharing on To Do Tuesday. Hope you’ve continued making progress, getting your studio in order, learning your new long arm and having fabric fun times. The 15 minutes to stitch that Kate came up with sure worked for me. 😉

  2. Interesting — I had head about WIPGO for cross stitching, never thought to apply it to quilting projects! You have a lot of great things going and as your musing button says, progress is what is most important. Keep that creative fire going and happy quilting!
