Welcome to the last To Do Tuesday post of 2025! I may have a special post either December 31st or January 1st for WIPs and/or goals. Still toying with that one. I have been working on hitting the sewing studio daily for at least 15 minutes. I think I did 4 out of 7 this week. My goal is to be physically present in the space. There is still plenty of unpacking and organizing to do as well as sewing and quilting. So not bad this week.
I will be linking up with Carol @ Quilt Schmilt for To Do Tuesday Link Up. Join us!

Well my quilty friends let’s take a look at what projects I did work on this week.
Project Updates
I worked on pretty much the same projects as before with a few exceptions.
Strip Club’s Stars Aligned Throw Quilt

I sewed up the final stack of half square triangles into flying geese. I need to trim all the ones I have done for the past couple of weeks. Then it will be time to finalize the border layout. Once that is done, then I can assemble the pieced border pieces together. Lots of measuring and guessing going on here.
Abby Rose Churn Dash Quilt

Finished another block! I have been using these pre-cut blocks as a leaders and enders project along with the flying geese units above. A ton still to go, but more are finished than need to be finished. This block blends a little more than I wanted but is still okay.
START & FINISH: Seasonal Tablecloth

Christmas Eve my daughter requested a Christmas tablecloth to fit their current kitchen table. I had her send me the table measurements and went through my holiday / winter stash with her via FaceTime. These fabrics are what she picked. (I forgot to take a picture before taking it over on Christmas Day) so the lighting is so-so.
One fabric is a silver gray with red, green, white and silver lines. The other is a blue background with gold snowflakes. I usually do reversible tablecloths for two reasons – the weight and versatility. I had some challenges with the cutting so I didn’t get as much of a drop as I wanted. It did completely cover the table.
Riley Blake Monthly Wallhanging: JOY

I cut it one night and then sewed the background another night. The rest is applique so I need to find my fusible web to do the rest.

January WIPGO for Quilting

I have a total of 5 bingo cards. I shared the one for cross stitch for January here if you missed it. For quilting, they are goals not projects and I have two categories – Quilt & Long Arm. Remember that 2026 is about playing as well as getting things done. Playing helps with learning and finishing things as well as motivation.
January Quilting Tasks
- #2 – Bind a project
- #7 – Finish an EPP block
They really do look doable today right?
January Long Arm Tasks
- #2 – Edge to Edge design
- #7 – Use fill on a quilt
These will be a bit more challenging for me as I have to learn how to do both of these. Keep your fingers crossed I don’t chicken out. I am not sure what projects I will use to finish each of these. I was thinking of playing with smaller projects to start but who knows. Maybe I will go BIG.
Musings

As I have continued to organize my sewing and crafting space, I encounter more questions than answers most of the time. This week found me thinking again how best to organize for workflow. I have been looking at the DreamBox organizing cabinet as well as standing desks. I originally was going to go with the standing desks because I do need work surface. I just can’t seem to pull the trigger. I have off and on checked out the home page for DreamBox. Last night I ended up purchasing some items to help with organizing the sewing room. I purchased bolts and mini bolts to organize fabric as well as clear totes. They are all meant to fit the dreambox. I tried to buy equivalent items from other places and have zero luck with finding the quality. They were having a sale so I went for it. They will all fit in my Ikea cubicles and are really what I have been looking for to organize. The bins I have currently are just like a huge enormous space and I basically have to take everything out in order to see what I have. No wonder I have duplicate of things. They won’t come until mid January.
I came across several cross stitch projects that need final quilty/sewing finishes. Do you leave them in the sewing room upstairs or in the craft room downstairs? Right now they are scattered between the two as I can’t make up my mind. 🤪
January WIPGO Other
Back to WIPGO. My last two cards are for my other crafting which I have not been posting anywhere. I need to be accountable so I am sharing here.
I recently got back into papercrafting. I am mostly messing around with card making and maybe back to scrapbooking. Who doesn’t like to play with paper?
- #2 Use a wax seal on a project – This should be interesting. Something I use to use all the time when I was in college. Just like everything we did 40 years ago. It is very different today.
- #7 – Use a stamp – Well that should be a slam dunk right? I have plenty of stamps – new and old.
I have mentioned in passing that I am working on becoming an artist. I have a lofty goal of some day designing my own fabric (even if I just print it off of Spoonflower). I spent two years learning Adobe Illustrator, the most common software for surface pattern design. I quickly came to the realization I had a more basic problem. I am not an artist – yet. 2025 I really focused on doodling and my skills have seriously increased. Now I am going one step further with this year’s bingo. It will be all over the place because once again 2026 is about playing – not stressing out over what I can or can’t do.
- #2 Doodle 3x – I left it pretty vague. In my head, that means 3 different days with little drawings of items.
- #7 Do a 10 day challenge – This one is going to be easy as I asked my art group if they wanted to do that in January (before it popped on my bingo). We are going to draw or sketch 10 out of 14 times between January 1st and January 14th which is the day we meet. They all seemed excited about that.
I currently do not blog regularly about my art or other crafting. I don’t even know if I have ever blogged about them. Something to consider for 2026.
I just love being retired and exploring all those things I put off while working. 2026 will be great. Thanks for tuning into my rambling here. Have a great week and I hope it is as productive as you were hoping for!
Until 2026 my quilty friends 🥂🍾

Peggy your post this week was just so filled with so many fun projects and goals! Congratulations on making it up to your sewing studio in spite of the holidays. Love your daughter’s tablecloth. Making them reversible is ingenious. Sounds like your organizing is coming along. I’m looking forward to seeing your space when you have it all together. I’m so glad I can’t visit you. I think you would have me taking up so many more crafts. Your bingos sound like fun! I don’t think I’ve ever heard of them. Thank you for sharing on To Do Tuesday. Happy New Year to you. 🥳 Carol
I wish you success in your goal to design fabric. Doodling is a great way to improve your skills. Do post about your progress toward your goal. Have fun this week!
