To Do Tuesday #160

Wow! This is the last week of November then we will be in the last month of 2025. The year has certainly been a busy chaotic year. I thought I would be nice and settled in by now. I am close but not there yet. I am already thinking about my 2026 goals. You?

This week I will be linking up with Carol @ Quilt Schmilt for To Do Tuesday. I hope you find some time to check out what other quilters and creators are working on. Maybe you might even find some time to join us. Check out the link below:

Project Updates

This year has been a year of change and I still haven’t gotten use to have to go upstairs to work in the sewing room. Honestly it was easier when I wandered by the open door and would think just five minutes.

This week I did get a quilt day with my long time friend Mary Elizabeth on Friday. It was nice to catch up and chit chat about different things. While I sewed most of the day, I only worked on a couple of projects. Let me share with you the progress.

Lori Holt’s Autumn Seeds Quilt
Finish Autumn Seed Blk #1 11/21/2025

Last week I finished the center of the pumpkin and this week I was able to build out the pumpkin and it’s corresponding leaf and vine. I like the pop of tourquoise. It took most of the day to work through all the units and to assemble the final block which is 18.5 inches by 20.5 inches. Only 8 more to go.

Autumn Seed #2 block cut

While we chatted, I went a head and cut block #2 out. It seems like less pieces but those bear claws will be a pain in my butt. Those are 1.5” half square triangles times 24! As always when working with kits from Fat Quarter Shop, they are generous with their cuts and I am efficent with cutting. Lots of leftovers!

Strip Club’s Stars Aligned Throw Quilt
Finished Star Aligned flying geese

Once again my leaders and enders project for the day were these hst turned into flying geese. They are growing! Each pile is 8 units and I even trimmed everyone on Quilt Zoom Day. I only have four more color piles to go.

Miscellaneous odds and ends
Under the Needle: Stars Aligned flying geese

I was going to make some more placemats but realized they will not fit on the table with the table runner for Thanksgiving. So I am taking them off the to do list. Still haven’t found my grunge, but now that I am only going to make two more napkins instead (for the table setting), I can use any nice fall fabric. I also decided against making more coasters as well. Just napkins.

I found my 770 sewing table for the arm. Still haven’t found the table insert, but it sure was nice having the extended sewing arm on Friday.

I got my English Paper Piecing out one night but then ended up on phone calls for two hours, so I never got anything sewed. I did fondle all the pieces for the block. 🐿️

I also opened up the next December Riley Blake wall hanging. It is pretty simple and is actually an applique project. Need to find my fusible to work on that one.

Musings

Quote

I had time to work in the sewing studio yesterday but not feeling it. My mojo is currently at a low. I am hoping to get myself going a little more with finally hanging my fall wall hangings this week (before Fall is gone). I have some very cute wall hangings that I have done over the years. How is your mojo doing?

To all my fellow Americans: Happy Thanksgiving! May your week be filled with family, friends, and lots of good food.
