Welcome Back! We are now in the last week of July. Overall it has been hot here in the Pacific Northwest but not over the top except for a few days. I am definitely enjoying the gorgeous summer here in Washington. I am loving it!
I will be linking up with Carol at Quilt Schmilt again this week. Jump over and check out all the cool projects. Get some inspiration.

I had a Quilt Zoom Day last Friday with one of my friend quilt groups and feel like I got a ton of things done. Super happy to be sharing what I got done.
Weekly Progress
I thought I might change it up this week and walk you through some of the projects:
Dragonfruit Foundation Paper Pieced BOM by Fat Quarter Shop

I was pretty persistent working on this project. I really wanted to finish up the last of the blocks which meant finishing Month 8. I finished the final flying geese and assembled one color version into 6.6 inch block. Once that was done, I laid out the 12.5 inch section for Month 8. Over a few days I assembled the section finishing it up on Quilt Zoom Day.
I went ahead and started Month 9 – Assembling the quilt top – working on row 1 of each quadrant. It is so pretty! But I set it aside before finishing row 1. Then,
2020 Are You Game Small Mystery Quilt by Cotton Cuts

Other than finding (or making) the backing for Are You Game, I needed to finish making the binding (before losing the fabric somewhere). I opted to store it with the finished quilt top from a couple of weeks ago.
Spring 2021 Sparkle & Shine Mystery Quilt by Cotton Cuts

Finishing ARE YOU GAME? Inspired me to pull another mystery quilt waiting to be assembled. It ended up being this one from 2021 Team Garnet. Over a few days I worked on assembling the center of the quilt. It actually went fairly quickly and I think it looks lovely. Next step will be to assemble the pieced borders.
After working on these two bigger projects, I was jonesing to just do something simple.
Churn Dash quilt blocks

I came across this project box and thought … why not? For some reason I had partially assembled the pink block so I finished that up as a leader and ender between the bigger projects, therefore, I did not finish the orange block. The last row is under the needle.
And…
Rosie’s Peacock Colorstory blocks

I used these blocks as a leader and ender before starting the churn dash blocks. I had done a couple of the Rosie’s layer cake papers so am working on two different colorways. I would like to finish up the final two this coming week.
Little things that got done
I finally did change my needles on the machine. I also took the time to clean the lint and oil everything but I still need to change my rotary blades.
Ended up being a very productive week for sure!

Long Arm Update

I forgot to take a picture (will include one next week), but my Gammill Statler is finally reassembled and retrofitted as of 9pm last night. In the two days the tech was here working on it, I realized the packers had my long arm stuff everywhere and it was not on my little rolling cart. My mission this week will be to setup my Long Arm Rolling cart again. Just to get thread on the machine took a few hours of busting open different boxes. Ended up someone had stuffed a few cones into my Gammill backpack.
I am new to the Statler so I have a lot of learning to do, but I am not new to long arming.
Plus now that the long arm is reassembled, I can finally move around in the room and can start unpacking my fabric stash. I still have not settled on how I will permanently store my fabrics but I want everything out of boxes! I can’t wait to get back to finishing up some quilts.
Musings

Here is the last of the acronyms from Red Thread Studio. This week is the HTTFS. I definitely will be needing to do that for my ARE YOU GAME? Quilt. I do not keep large pieces of batiks on hand. I do have a lot of fat quarters but nothing that will go with the quilt. So definitely either going to my local quilt shop or if I can’t find what I want, I will order online. Surely, something will be available locally? This will be first time since arriving in Vancouver, that I will be LOOKING for something specific.
Also will be headed over to Portland by this weekend to buy my birthday gift to myself. I am upgrading my travel machine so that it uses all the same accessories as my other machines. I am tired of not being able to use my favorite feet, bobbins, etc. Everything is supposedly on sale for 71% off. Wish me luck. I should have went earlier. For some reason, I couldn’t seem to find the time. Now its the last week of the sale.
Thank you for stopping by. Hopefully you found something to get your creative juices flowing. I send you happy vibes for a great week! Happy quilting everyone!

Wow Peggy! You had an amazing week in spite of having a technician in your sewing space for two days! What fun to have your Gammil set up and doing a SMAR (sewing machine acquisition run 😉). What fun!
I love Dragonfruit, your Peacock Blocks, Sparkle and Shine, and Are You Game projects. They are simply stunning.
I hope you managed to find the “perfect” machine and backing fabrics this week. I’m so looking forward to seeing your studio now that your longarm is set up and you can finish getting things organized. Thank you for joining ToDo Tuesday.
Thanks Carol. I try! I love bright colors so most of the time that is what you will find me working on. If I could, I would make everything a rainbow but purples are good too.
Your colors are so pretty.
Thank you Marsha!
