To Do Tuesday #142

With two quilt zoom days, I was hoping to have more to share with you. I only worked on foundation paper piecing on Friday. I meant to do some cutting over the weekend, but was distracted with other chores related to moving to a new home. LOL! Monday morning found me scrambling for things to do during my second quilt zoom day this week. A few that you will recognize and others that I worked on because they were unpacked.

I plan on linking up with Carole at Quilt Schmilt again this week for To Do Tuesday. Thanks Carole for hosting!! Come over and check out our small groups list of projects. Feel free to join in.

Last Week’s Progress

I am excited that I actually worked on different projects this week. Of course, I continue attempting to get caught up with my Dragonfruit Block of the Month. Months 7 & 8 arrived in Vancouver already. I am anxious to get caught up. Let’s take a look at the results of two quilt zoom days.

  • Finished all the blocks for Month 6 Dragonfruit BOM
  • Assembled Month 6 blocks into their 12 inch section x 4
  • Cut all 3 Month 7 12 inch blocks (x4)
  • Decided to work on the Snail Trail block first. Sewed the starting four patch for all four blocks.
  • Started the first of four Snail trail blocks
  • After getting Dragonfruit Month 7 cut, I started sewing the strip sets for my Rail Fence project that I am making for my son Steven
  • Finished one strip set which I cut into 4 – 10 inch blocks
  • My surprise project was pulling one of my Cotton Cuts Mystery Quilts that I started participating in back in 2020. I ended up pulling Are You Game? From 2020 in pretty blue & purple batiks. This is the small version of the quilt.
  • I assembled the first 4 steps.

  • Finished paperwork for Gammil setup
  • Unpacked a few more boxes in the sewing studio

I am still a little unorganized this month. Every day is an adventure and I just don’t know from day to day what I am working on. This week I realized I need to find my sewing room writing utensils.

To Do List for This Week

I am not expecting to get much done this week at all. What sewing happens will more likely than not be done in the next few days. So I am going to try and keep my list short and sweet:

  • Dragonfruit Mo 7 Snail Trail block x 1
  • Finish sewing Rail Fence strip set and subcutting into 4 – 10 inch blocks
  • Assemble the next few steps in Are You Game? Mystery quilt
  • Work on EPP project: Farmers Wife 1920 Block 49
  • Continue unpacking WIPS and other items in sewing studio
  • Follow up on Bernina 770QE
  • Date for Gammill setup

Musings

This was the next in the series of quilting acronoyms. While I would love to go a FART, it is not currently in my future.

My first guest arrives tomorrow – Shaun (grandson). He is coming to participate in my daughter’s wedding which is on Friday. It will be a small wedding with Shaun and I being the only family. Everyone else will be Caitlin and Jannes friends. There is a limit of 10 at the courthouse chapel. I hope to share the wedding photos next week. I have seen her wedding dress but it still needed to be fitted last I saw.

My sister Dorothy & her husband Jesse are coming for a week long vacation. That motivated me to get the new mattresses for the guest bedrooms and order new sheets. I realized that I have not found ALL the linen boxes. I unpacked two but I am missing a lot of towels, quilts, etc. The weather is mellow so hopefully we can get buy with what I have. Cailtin loaned me some towels just in case.

Can’t wait to have my first guests.

My San Jose house went on the market on Friday. My first time ever selling a house. So much paperwork! I hope to have that headache completed by July. Wish me luck!

Okay. Lots to do before tomorrow. Enjoy this week’s eye candy. See you next week for another quilty update.
