We are starting this post making my list for first quarter. I already posted on Instagram (@quiltadventures) on Friday night. Some of these have been on the list for a while. For the old ones, I added them to my All People Quilt Resolution 2020. I will tag those items as I go. Because it is so random drawing for the #APQResolution2020, I included all of them in my quarterly goals just in case!
My List
- Hexagon Charity Baby Quilt (APQResolution #6) – I guestimate this quilt is from 2016 and is a quilt that I only need to quilt and bind for my local quilt guild. It is partially quilted.
- 2010 New Year’s Eve queen quilt (APQResolution #2 which is the January quilt of the month to finish). Since it was drawn for APQResolution, I also added it to be my #onemonthlygoal with Elm Street Quilts as well as setting a weekly goal of quilting two rows by this Sunday with #onethingwithAmy on Instagram. This project is stitched in the ditch already.
- Quilter’s Planner 2018 Sewalong – Sunflower colorway (APQResolution #9) Blocks are made and some are sashed.
- Quilter’s Planner 2019 Sew-A-Long Hexagon Snowflake (APQResolution #10). All the blocks are made. Next step is to cut all the background fabric and assemble the top.
- Pinwheel potholders – Another one that has been on the list since 2018 as it is leftover fabric from the Jewel colorway of the QPSAL2018. Since January 1st, I have layered and basted.
- Ohio Star potholders – This too is leftover fabric but from the Sunflower colorway of the QPSAL2018. This one is now layered and basted as well.
- Blooming Pansies Applique Wallhanging – I started this May 2019 and have been chipping away at this one. It is now layered and basted all ready for some quilting.
- Candy Cane Wooly Mug Rugs – One of the last two for this series has been cut and fused. They are in my ToGo bag for hand applique.
- Snowman Wooly Mug Rugs – The last one to be completed for this series is also cut, fused, and in the ToGo bag for hand applique.
- Adoornament Leaves Applique Wallhanging – It is prepped for some top stitching and quilting. This is a sew and turn inside out, which has already been done.
- Adoornament Rudolph & Santa Applique Wallhanging – This one is cut and fused.
- Adoornament Snowman Applique Wallhanging – It is also cut, fused, and even some thread machine applique (I do blanket stitch) is done in black.
- Blooming Pumpkins Applique Wallhanging – All the machine applique is done except for the several shades of green left before it will be time to layer, baste, and quilt.
- Blooming Leaves Applique Wallhanging – Ready to be free motion quilted.
- Blooming Snowflakes Applique Wallhanging – Kit ready to open.
- Blooming Pointsettas Applique Wallhanging – Kit ready to open.
- Year of Words Halloween Applique Wallhanging – To finish up the machine quilting, I just have lime green thread, then it will be time to layer, baste, and quilt.
- Year of Words Give Thanks Applique Wallhanging – Both the pieced and applique blocks are complete. Next step is to assemble top and machine applique.
- Year of Words Christmas Applique Wallhanging – Kit ready to open.
- Year of Words Winter Applique Wallhanging – Pieced block is cut and needs to be assembled. The applique block is done.
- Advent Christmas Wedding Quilt (APQResolution #1) – I finished the blocks during the #adventscrapalong2019 in December. I love the fabric I used for this quilt-a-long from Basic Grey Claus & Kringle. It is time to sash and assemble the top.
- Halloween Mug Rugs – My first English Paper piecing hexagon project. These are with the 3/4 inch hexies and I made a flower with the leftovers from my Halloween placemats that I finished NYEve 2019. They just need to quilt and bind. It will be my first circle binding ever. Wish me luck.
- Halloween Potholders – My second English Paper piecing hexagon project also using leftover fabric from the Halloween placemats. This time I used 1 inch hexies and appliqued to 7 1/2 squares. On New Year’s Day, I echo quilted the potholders. They just need to be bound.
- Grace’s minkee baby quilt from 2011 (APQResolution #3) – I started this baby quilt when my granddaughter was born in 2011. It was my first time ever working with minkee (and only so far). Top is assembled and backing is selected.
- Dorothy’s King Double Slice Quilt (fondly referred to as sister quilt) (APQResolution #4) – This quilt was one started on a sister weekend. All the blocks are done. I am not sure what year it was started. The matching quilt in a bright colorway is on my bed. The next step is to assemble the quilt top.
- Candy Rail lap quilt (APQResolution #7). I had to have done this quilt like in 2012 or thereabouts. It’s the fence rail pattern with a candy jelly roll with some black strips thrown in to add a consistent pattern. I loved the pieced border on this one. The top is assembled.
- Princess twin quilt (APQResolution #8). Grace and I worked on this together. I used a Disney princess charm pack along with yellow and pink background. The quilt is assembled and the backing is selected.
- Over and Under Quilt (APQResolution #11) – This was a PIQF class quilt that I finished assembling in 2019. I think it was from 2018 PIQF. I need to find a backing for this one. This should be a fun quilt.
- Mama Gypsy quilt (APQResolution #12) – This was a 2019 Quilt-a-long with Judi Madsen in August 2019. I used the Tula Pink Zuma fabrics with black background. The center is assembled. Next step will be to assemble the pieced border and add the last border.
- Adoornaments Heart (Feb) Applique Wallhanging – To round out my list I decided to add this kit to the list.
Whew! A lot of possibilities for the quarter to work on. I have my 2020 quilt-a-longs that I am working on but do not expect to finish in quarter one.
Hockey
Just to give a quick update. We head out to Orlando this Thursday, so not a lot of sewing except for the ToGo bag. Looking forward to the great weather. We will only have one game per day so maybe even some Disney World time.
Safe travels and happy quilting,
Peggy Stockwell
