Hello Everyone! Friday was a travel day and while I meant to write this post on Thursday, it is now Saturday. LOL! I am in Seattle. I had dinner with my daughter last night and breakfast with my brother this morning. Now I am hanging out at the local Starbucks writing this post. It is only drizzling but the weather makes me want to curl up in front of a fire and read. LOL!
Starts & Finishes
I finished two and started one this past week.
FINISH: February Year of Celebration Season 2 by Hands on Design
This was my everyday for an hour project at the beginning of the week. I managed to still finish it by Sunday, March 31st. I am stitching this series on 16 ct dirty aida (I think, I keep meaning to look it up and I just haven’t done it yet). See below as this series is one of my April WIPGO projects!
FINISH: June Calendar Crates by Stitching with the Housewives
After wrapping up Year of Celebration, I had a night stitching on this one and realized that I was close to being done. This became my new hour each day project. I was thrilled to finish this up on Wednesday!
This project is stitched on 14ct chalkboard black aida with the called for Classic Colorworks floss.
START: May Stackables by It’s Sew Emma (FQS)
This series is usually a quick stitch. I had planned on starting it in March (and I did.). I just couldn’t resist working on this a few more times this week. Those flowers just draw me in. When I get home, this will be my next hour each day project.
This series is being stitched on 14 ct Fabric Flair Marbled White Pineboard with called for Classic Colorworks. I have to say, I don’t see much reason to use this fabric as I am not even seeing the texture at all.
WIPGO Updates
March Projects
Project #10: Fall Harvest by It’s Sew Emma (a Stitch Quarterly Project by Fat Quarter Shop)
I was pleased with my progress that I made during the month on this WIPGO project. My goal was to work on it five times in March and that goal was met. I did get a little bored working on the basket and jumped over to the pumpkins for a change of pace. It really helped me when I finally went back to the basket. Now the basket is almost done. This is going to be great when I finish it this fall!
Project 1: Snow Village by Country Cottage Needleworks
Another successful WIPGO month with this project as well. I was able to finish two of the last four charts during the month. I was tempted to keep going, but I have other things I would like to work on. I can see this being finished this winter when I pick it up again.
April Projects
Project 18: 2024 Temperature Library by Kristi’s Corner
This project is on target so far but I plan to use this time to finish not only the March shelf, but work on the April shelf and the bookshelf itself which includes putting in the year. I look forward to getting ahead on this year long project.
Project 21: Year of Celebration Season 2 by Hands on Design
I started this project a month later than I really wanted so I plan to use this time to get caught up. I plan to finish March and April during April as my WIPGO project. Looking forward to working on this so cute series.
WIP Updates
Only two project weren’t new starts, finishes, or WIPGO projects. Let’s take a look at these.
Fruit of Plenty by Modern Folk Embroidery
I started this project back in 2021 as my very first real sampler and I am enjoying working on it. There have been many months where I have worked numerous days on it and other months where I do an hour a day. For 2024, it has been relegated to once a month (for now). Since I only working on this once a month, I try to pick a night where I will have at least four hours to work on it. March found me able to finish up page 4 (of 9) and even start page 5. It is exciting to be stitching my initials.
Let’s Talk Spring (framed chart) by Hands on Design
Another project with huge strides this week. I worked on the bird nest section this week and just have the nest left to make. This is the bottom of the chart so not much left and the spring charts will all be done! So excited to be finishing this up. My favorite to stitch so far has been the adorable umbrella! ☔️
Upcoming Plans & Thoughts
I thought I would get to stitch on Friday, but that never happened. But that is okay, I have finished up a project I didn’t expect to this week so that kind of puts me ahead of the game. I brought with me:
- Year of Celebration Season 2
- Let’s Talk Spring
Not sure if I will get to work on one or both but the plan is to actually start March Celebration. I brought the second project as a backup not necessarily to work on it. This is the project I plan on working on this week even when I get home. I am sure I will need to do something else once I get home on Monday. The only other thing on the radar is to work on Fruit of Plenty again this week but not sure if that will really happen.
Everyone have a great weekend! Happy Stitching 🧵

As always, your projects are just eye candy for me. The temperature library really caught my eye this time, so cute. How sweet to visit with your brother! Hope you have a great time Peggy!
