Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! I am very grateful to have been able to spend the day with my sister Dorothy and her family. I dropped Shaun off at hockey camp. His mom helped the other parents prepare breakfast for the team and their families. It was a bonding moment for them. Then off to the family dinner at his Aunt Diane’s where his dad joined them. He said they had a great time. So happy for them.
Starts & Finishes
I had no new starts or finishes this week.
WIP Updates
Last weekend was a hockey tournament weekend. When I travel, I usually only take one project with me to stitch on between games. Last weekend was no exception.
Let’s Talk Summer (WIPGO project) by Hands on Design
I really got hooked on this one this week and stitched on it for four days straight. On the fourth day I realized I had already achieved my WIPGO goal of 5 times this month so I used up all the floss on my needles and put it away until next summer. So fun stitching all those cute fireflies – not easy, but fun.
Fruit of Plenty by Modern Folk Embroidery
I decided to focus on the one motif on the left instead of the border. I made some inroads into the motif.
Snowman Collector – The Clown by Cottage Garden Samplings
Started working on The Clown. I worked on one section and finished quite a bit in my time working on this. Love the Big Tops and trapeze people!
Fall Harvest a Stitch Quarterly by Fat Quarter Shop
It doesn’t look like much yet. The night I worked on this I was only able to squeeze in a few hours. It is not a hard stitch. I wanted to start it this month even though I knew I would not get much time on it.
2023 SJ Temperature Butterflies (WIPGO project) by Stitchin Mommy
I’m am feeling awesome about my progress on this. It felt good to finish all the butterfly outlines. Now I just have to fill in each butterfly. I got a little start on September. I plan to work on this one more time this month and I should be able to finish September and maybe even October.
October Stackables by It’s Sew Emma (FQS)
I hadn’t planned on working on this yesterday but this ended up being my on-the-go project since it is pretty easy to stitch the outline and then just fill in. I was pleased to finish the leaf and the sign yesterday!
Upcoming Plans & Thoughts
It is hard to believe that next Thursday is the end of the month of November. There is on 31 days until Christmas. How crazy is that!?
So I plan to have a marathon weekend this weekend to work on all the projects I have yet to work on this month. This will be my last month to work on fall/halloween projects so I am pushing to finish what I can.
Projects I have yet to work on this month from my 16 WIPS and 2 starts are:
- June Calendar Crates
- June Snapshot
- Mr. August
- July Trucking Along
- November Sampler of the Month
- Hello November (need to start)
I need to get in my second & third evening on The Clown as well as my third evening on Fruit of Plenty. For my WIPGO projects, I still haveone evening left. I planned to start & finish Hello November this month as well as finish October Stackables. I am not sure if there is enough time for all of those, but I will give it a good push to see how close we come.
With December around the corner, it is time to start planning for December as well. So I will be working in some time for that this next week. I already pulled out of WIPland my winter/christmas stitches plus a couple that I would like to start. Some of those WIPS have been around since 2020 so I think I will focus on them this winter.
Everyone have a stitchy weekend and Happy Thanksgiving.

Glad you were able to spend family time on Thanksgiving. It all seems like a dream to me. It always goes by so fast! Love the fabric for Fall Harvest. You’ve got a good start on your basket. Love seeing all your pretty projects Peggy!
