Welcome to another weekend! Fall has visited us today with overcast clouds and prediction of rain. I am sure it won’t stay long. I just love fall.
It was a busy week with lots of quilting but I still managed to get some stitching time in as well. Let’s take a look.
Starts & Finishes
Meet my goals for September other than finishing my Triple Play Pillows. I am very pleased!
FINISH: August Sampler of the Month by Country Cottage Needleworks
I was very excited to finish my August Sampler. I used 16 ct beige aida with called for Classic Colorworks floss. I am sitting in Starbucks and realized I never took a photo when I finished. The only photo I have is the night before I finished. (Sigh). So I have included above a photo from Country Cottage Needleworks website my finished project. I wished this frame was available, but I have never been able to find it anyplace.
My favorite part to stitch on this project was the sandcastle border. It was just plain fun!
WIP Updates
Hmmm. In the evenings, I have not had as much time to stitch because I am out living life. Can’t complain about that now can we. LOL! But here is what I did get done.
It was definitely fun this week to work on my autumn projects.
WIPGO Project: Fruit of Plenty by Modern Folk Embroidery
My goal is to work on this five times (instead of my normal 3) during the month. I was able to get number 4 in this week. I am feeling really good about all of my progress this month and can’t wait to work on it again. All I have left is to fill in the thick inner border. From past experience, I know this takes some time but it is still fun to see each leaf and flower being revealed.
Temperature Butterflies by Stitchin Mommy
I have gotten a little behind on this one. I am not even sure how it happened. Anyway I decided to stitch the outline for both July and August butterflies and then fill in the colors on both of them. Here I started with the 100+ color first (a deep red). I was looking at August and we had a lot of hot days in August but July wasn’t much cooler.
Oracle Quaker Halloween by Oracle Tales
It’s been almost a year since I worked on this. When I pulled the project from the bag I remembered I threw in a bunch of different flosses with no idea what I was going to do. It seems that I have been doing orange touch ups mostly with words. I think I am going to continue that trend. I kind of like how the words stand out.
As you can see here I am working in the right bottom of this stitch. I made some significant progress on Part 4 of this SAL from last year.
Autumn Beauties by It’s Sew Emma (FQS)
Earlier this year this one was a WIPGO project so I made some awesome progress at that time. I am left with just the bottom half to stitch out now. With three months, hopefully, I can get this one finished. I just love sunflowers.
I decided to wait on stitching border because I could resist stitching the pumpkin and sunflowers. I finally decided what I was going to fill in the sign with “Pumpkin” and started the word. Fun right?
Let’s Talk Autumn (Framed Chart) by Hands on Design
I am real excited about this series. I am working on the last chart in this design and then it will be time to finish them. This was a WIPGO project earlier in the year as well so I actually get to start with some significant progress. This week I worked on adding accents and finishing “Harvest Blessings”.
Upcoming Plans & Thoughts
I am looking at my October calendar and I haven’t really planned anything for this upcoming first week of October. Off the top of my head, this is what I am thinking:
- Finish Temperature Butterflies July & August
- Last night on September WIPGO project Fruit of Plenty
- Last night on September WIPGO project The Needleworker (Snowman Collector)
- Start Hello October
- Start October Celebration
- Start September Sampler of the Month (Oct WIPGO project)
- Prim Stitch (Oct WIPGO project)
- June Stackables
I have already kitted up Hello October, October Celebration, and September Sampler. I’m all set!
Have a great weekend and I will be talking to you later.
