Hello Everyone!
This week has been a very busy week. I discovered I had turned a project upside down at one point. I had to laugh at that. Overall, it was a very productive week though. Let’s take a look.
Starts & Finishes
I had sketched in the starts but was happy with the finish as well. Of course, sometimes all you need is to just start!
START & FINISH: March Nine Patch by Primrose Cottage Stitches
This small project was stitched on 25 count pewter lugana with the called for DMC threads. Not as colorful as I thought it would be, but very cute.
START & FINISH: Let’s Talk Spring Perforated Paper Tulips by Hands on Design
This was one that I had kept procrastinating on starting, but once I got started it was very quick. I like how it turned out. I think it was just the fact that stitching on 14 ct kraft brown with called for dmc threads.
START: Let’s Talk Spring Framed by Hands on Design
Since I finished the perforated paper shapes so quickly, I decided to get the hard part over with. Starting…. I wasn’t planning on starting this project this month at all. I was going to do one of the two new spring projects but for some reason, I had a strong urge to start this one. I am stitching on 16 count black aida with the called for DMC threads which are spring like. Imagine that!
WIP Updates
WIPGO Projects:
May Calendar Crates by Stitching with the Housewives
I got really excited when I finished the first top border as I realized that this border was going to be easy to stitch. So this week I was able to finish stitching all the white outline and start filling in. The little quilts were like a bonus stitch for me. So cute. I should be done with this project this week. It is so exciting to be able to finish my second WIPGO project.
Non WIPGO Projects:
I wanted to make sure to touch on all of my “active” projects this month including ones that I don’t really enjoy working on anymore.
Butterfly Dreams by Dimension
All the fun part is done already. Now it is the tedious part of backstitching. I really should have done it as I go because this is literally boring as all heck. So I set a goal of finishing one butterfly. I did that and even started on a second butterfly. Whew! Now I can set aside for more fun things.
Big Hearted Tiny Town by Heart in Hand
I really love working on these tiny towns. Doing the center is always the hardest as the chart is split in the center. Once I get the center done, the rest start to flow. So this week I finished the center house and started working on the right side of the house. These hearts are so cute on the purple aida.
Tea Thyme by It’s Sew Emma (a FQS Stitch Quarterly)
I love this project. It just has a lot of fill in. I didn’t get to spend as much time on it as I had hoped. I’ve notice that the It’s Sew Emma patterns are pretty dense with a lot of fill in.
April Cottage of the Month by Country Cottage Needleworks
Oops! It seems after I started this project, I set it aside while I was working on the roof. I never realized I turned it upside down. Only when after I finished the whole cottage, did I realize that I had done that as I attempted to add the fence. Silly me. I started unstitching and got bored. So I just started again and this time made sure to mark the top so I would get this right now. I am a little sad, but it will be fine.
Upcoming Plans & Thoughts
I’m having to rethink what I want to finish for the month with my April Cottage boo boo. So here is what I am thinking for this next week:
- Finish May Calendar Crates
- Finish Hello March
- March Celebration – work on center
- Just My Type – dual hearts on left side
- Sail Away – top border
- Finish January Stackables
- Temperature Butterflies – February outline & fill in
- April Cottage – cottage
Good luck everyone. Thank you for stopping by and sharing my stitchy projects. Have a great weekend!
Peggy Stockwell
Peggy the close up of Butterfly Dreams in your header is gorgeous! I always forget how outlining cross stitch adds such a nice finishing touch. Love the quote – so true. It’s fun to read through your projects and the fun (or boredom – lol!) you are having!
