Floss Friday #198

While this will post back dated (because I can), I am actually working on this Sunday morning. I do not know how the week got away from me. My personal To Do list has been so long for this week and I have been frantically trying to catch up after more than a month of travel. I leave Monday for my last trip (I think) for 2026. Pesky things like bills, taxes, food, laundry, etc all needed doing. When all I want to do is continue the fun I had creating at the quilt retreat. So…

Welcome back my Stitchy Friends! I worked really hard on trying to finish my September WIPGO projects and I did! I can’t wait to share the progress.

September WIPGO Progress

September 2026 WIPGO: Project 24 & 25
Project 24: Home Grown by It’s Sew Emma (Fat Quarter Shop)

Where I began. The goal was to stitch 2000 stitches in September. It was down to the wire but I succeded. Here is the results from the end of the month.

Home Grown WIP 9/30/2026

I am excited to report that after finishing the 2000 stitches, there is less than 400 left to do on this project. Guess what you will see next week?!

Project 25: November Calendar Crates by Stitching with the Housewives

The main chart was a new start for me in September. Last fall I had finished the small chart (modelled by Nala above). The goal was to finish 2000 stitches on this project. This goal has been challenging with my limited available time to stitch but I got it done!

I loved the progress I was able to make on this fun and different seasonal make.

I will be keeping this one in my fall line up. Hopefully I can finish it up this fall.

New Starts & Finishes

None.

WIP Updates

I only worked on one other project this week besides my two WIPGO projects. Let me share that with you.

Stitch Quarterly: Pumpkin Pals by It’s Sew Emma (FQS)

I only had an hour to work on it so I started the wheelbarrow….

October WIPGO Projects

Oct 2026 WIPGO #8 & #11
Project #8: 2021 Oracle Quaker Happy Holidays

This was the pull for this month. I do not have this in Markup R-XP so my goal will be to work on it five times this month. I am stitching this on 18 ct aida khaki putty with a red/green silk variegated thread. I remember it taking some thought to work with this thread. My notes say I am halfway done with this project.

Project #11: HOD Merry Moments Ornament by Hands on Design

Merry Moments is the Hands on Design Pateron Ornament Club first collection. I have not been very diligent in with staying on top of the club. We are now on our third collection and I am still working on the first one.

I would love to make my goal for this month to be to finish the remaining three ornaments, I am just not sure how realistic that would be. So I am definitely going to finish Plaid Tidings here. And let’s make my goal include Final Finishing both Sweets for Santa and Light the Way. (And maybe start Hark How the Bell).

Plans & Reflections

Nov Calendar Crates WIP 9/27/2026

I know I was travelling most of September, but I can’t help feeling sad that I didn’t work on more projects. This time last year, I was working on an average of 7 projects every week for 4 to 5 hours each night. That is so far from my current reality. I am trying to find my new happy medium but I am not there yet. So now I have to decide if it is more important to meet number of stitches goal or to work on a project every day for however much time I can. Hopefully, I will figure something out before the new year. Currently, I have been trying to make sure I meet my WIPGO goals (which were originally set based on prior available stitch time). Now those goals are taking me most of the month. Hmmm.

Well here are my plans for the upcoming week (which includes more travel!):

  • Finish Home Grown
  • Pumpkin Pals
  • HOD Plaid Tidings
  • 2021 Oracle Happy Holidays
  • Start Harvest Tiny Town
  • Corny Cruiser

I know I had some happy mail that arrived this week. It was the supplies I needed to start Harvest Tiny Town, Hello Liz Matthews’Passing Through (halloween stitch), and everything I need to start Comfort & Joy Ornaments. I didn’t take any photos…..

I also downloaded some free charts from Primrose Cottage: Sweetly Sayin Autumn and from Chantelles 141 Design fall chart. Not sure I am really going to start either of those. I really want to start Halloween!

Sorry for the delayed post. Have a great week!
