Floss Friday #178

Gorgeous sunny day here in the Pacific Northwest. I was outside enjoying some of that sunshine with the cats who were cracking me up.

Went for a walk in the neighborhood today. First thing that happened was being greeted when I walked out the front door by two birds. It took me a minute to figure out they were chattering at me because I was standing by their nest.

With it being spring, I just had to take some flower pictures!

Now that I shared all my spring inspired photos, let’s take a look at what I did work on this week. It has been hit or miss stitching the past week.

Starts & Finishes

While I intended to have a couple of starts this week, I never made that leap. Neither did I have any finishes this week.

WIP Updates

Plugging away through my WIP list for this week.

APRIL WIPGO Project 13: Spring Baskets (#3) by Hands on Designs

I was cooking along thinking things were going great. Well they were going great until I realized my two yellow flowers were seperated by 3 instead of 5 and the stems wouldn’t work. I ended up having to take out almost everything I had done PLUS all the diamonds and greenery on the right. I did not want to, but I had to. I kept thinking about this project and just could not resist restitching everything I took out and even added some purple flowers. I have 4 more yellow flowers and 4 more purple flowers plus one more leafy vine. The draw is strong to wrap this one up. It is the last chart for spring as well as the last one for the whole series to be done.

APRIL WIPGO Project 6: Crescent City Velaris by Woven Wild Crafts

I am not sure if you caught my last post here but I spent the weekend in Bend, Oregon with my daughter and son-in-law. We all did the Salmon Run. For more details, check out the last post. Anyway, I took this with me thinking I would have time to work on it. Well I did have time, but no energy. It just sat on the couch in the hotel and made me feel guilty. 🛋️ When I got home on Sunday, it was still calling my name. Despite being very tired, I put in 200 stitches towards my 2000 goal for this month. I know it is laughable 🙊

Hands on Design Pateron Ornament Club: Merry Moments: Sweets for Santa
HOD Merry Moments : Sweets for Santa WIP 4/20/2026

I was feeling some Christmas spirit so I picked up this small stitch. I am very excited that I only have a little left now. Can’t wait to work on it next week! I love his face and the candy canes are pretty relaxing to stitch.

Calendar Gnomes: Mr. April by Charlie’s Needles (etsy)
Calendar Gnome: Mr. April WIP 4/22/2026

I am not sure it is going to get done this month but it will not be going back in the closet until the stitching is done! I enjoyed adding the backstitch for the faces for my gnome, bunny, and chick. It really adds a lot of character. Still alot left to do. Looking forward to working on it some more.

Plans & Reflections

Zoom Stitch with Chantelle 141 Designs

I am looking forward to joining everyone later today. I missed last week’s because I was in Bend. That should start my stitchy night off good. I also have a quilt zoom today with quilt guild. I have a lot of appointments today so not sure how much time I will get today. Next week should be better…

This week is the last week of April and I need to do the following:

  • 2025 SJ Moon Phases
  • Shabby Winter Calendar
  • 2026 Vancouver Solar System
  • Start September Square Dance
  • Start Count SAL (still have to scan chart and load into my app)
  • Finish Sweets for Santa
  • Hoping to finish Sept Square Dance

I hope you have a great weekend! Thanks for stopping by.
