It feels like only yesterday that I was sharing what I have been up to this week on all my Cross Stitch projects. In reality, it has been a week! Whoa! What a busy week it has been. We are having unseasonably warm sunny weather here in Northern California. I am enjoying it while I can.
January Goals
I thought I would recap my monthly cross stitch start and finish goals here. I normally try to keep this number down, but January got out of control. 🐿️🤪

So far I haven’t started any of these.
Starts & Finishes
I have been focused on finishing up my smaller projects this week I was able to check 3 more off my list. Next week I will finish kitting up my new starts and get rolling on them.
FINISH: Seaside Tiny Town by Heart in Hand
This one was an unexpected finish. I didn’t realize I was almost done with it and was thrilled to push through to the finish. Unfortunately, it appears I forgot to take a picture of the finish. I am not at home so I hope I remember to take a picture of the finish when I get home so I can update my post with the finished picture. I love this cute little town! It was fun stitching all the crabs. I still need to add the buttons so maybe that is why I didn’t take the photo yet. No matter what, I will post an update after I finish adding the buttons to both Seaside and Blooming Tiny Towns.
FINISH: December Year of Celebration by Hands on Design from the Year of Celebration Season 2 series
What a relief to finish this final month of this series. I worked on it an hour everyday for almost five days before finally finishing. I do like it that it is super Christmasy but yet embodies the holiday with all the colorful houses.
Winter Basket Chart #3 by Hands on Design
I thought I had a few more nights to finish this one so I was super happy to wrap it up last night. I just have one more in this series to finish. Love these winter colors with the pop of rose. I saw someone made this into a biscornu style pillow that looked really cute. I will be making them the same way I did the Summer Baskets. Doesn’t it look like giant snowflake?
WIP Updates
Meanwhile, I have been able to get in several hours on all of my active WIPs. Let’s take a look:
WIPGO project: Fruit of Plenty by Modern Folk Embroidery
I am way ahead of my goal for this WIPGO project. My goal is 2500 stitches in January and I am already at 1372. The app keeping track of how many stitches I stitch is so motivating. Great progress!
September Calendar Crates House (or Main) Chart by Stitching with the Housewives
I wanted to get my non winter projects out of the way so I got in 474 stitches on my September Calendar Crates and it sure feels good.
February Month 2 Month Barn by Stitching with the Housewives
I am almost done with the Word “February”. I enjoyed stitching this cute little blue bird just for a change of pace. I was able to get in 464 stitches for the one night this month. This will become a priority in February.
November Snapshot by Pine Mountain Designs
I barely squeaked in with 406 stitches on this one. I was able to finish almost all of the pumpkins. Looking good right?
Afterthoughts
I have a few starts kitted and ready to go. It took me like 4 hours to find, update, and add 39 flosses to floss bitties for my 2025 temperature stitch called Moon Phases by Climbing Goat Designs. I am looking forward to getting started.
I also already have kitted the Pop of Winter which I am putting on my To Do list for this upcoming week. Here is what I am thinking I will work on this next week:
- Start 2025 Moon Phases
- Start Pop of Winter
- Work on Snow Village
- Add buttons to Seaside Tiny Town
- Add buttons to Blooming Tiny Town
- Add buttons to Monthly Markings (a button feast)
- Kit up WIPGO Project Mr. January and hopefully start
- Work on WIPGO Project Fruit of Plenty
- Work on Snow Village
- Work on Crescent City Velarius
- Work on Fabulous House: Santa’s House
- Work on Snowman Collector: The Shepherd
That should keep me plenty busy! I want to finish Snow Village this month so after getting in a good three or four hours on it, I will be switching to an hour every night for the rest of January until it is done.
Everyone enjoy your weekend and for those of you with MLK day off, enjoy the LONG weekend. Happy stitching!
