To Do Tuesday #155

Welcome back! First post of September and the fall. I am starting to gear up for my upcoming quilt retreat on Lake Tahoe. Last year was spectacular and I don’t expect anything less this year. I went in July last year and it was the hottest week of the year. The conference center doesn’t have AC because it is generally mild on the lake. So here is to hoping that this year will be falltacular!

I am linking up with Carol @ Quilt Schmilt once again for To Do Tuesday. While most projects are quilting, it is for any kind of creative maker. Come join us!

To Do Tuesday #152

Hello from Vancouver, Washington where it is freaking hot today! I didn’t move to the Pacific Northwest to be roasted to death. It has been over 98F for several days and I am looking forward to the predicted rain that should be here by Thursday. I would never have guessed I would be looking forward to rain 🌧️

With my studio on the second floor, it has been unbearable to be upstairs for extended periods of time in the sewing studio. I managed to work on a few blocks as well as start unpacking my fabric boxes. I have already unpacked 10 boxes. For someone who doesn’t like green, I sure have a lot. I am guessing it is becauses every collection comes with green and I tend to not use it. LOL! I elected to focus on sorting fabrics by color in the new studio and that is where I am at for now.

To Do Tuesday #145

Oops! Has it been two weeks? Sorry about that. I got wrapped up with guests again. This time it was my brother Scott in from Brooklyn, New York. He stayed with me a few days before heading down to Corvallis to see his grandkids. It was awesome seeing him. It has been a year. The most exciting thing we did was do a hike at

It was a beautiful day for a hike – sunny & 70F. Only issue I had was that it said it was 2 miles but it was really 3 miles 🥾🤪. I survived. This hike is not an easy hike. There is a lot of elevation. I opted to go UP the steepest part and come down the sloping hillside. As always, coming down is harder than going up. Great hike though! Great company.

To Do Tuesday #144

This week has found me settling into more normal routine except for the daily trips to do kitty chores for the honeymooners who are currently in Grand Teton National Park. It has been a heatwave here but all of us are mustering through. In my truck it hit a high of 99F. Today is way cooler. Such a relief after the past several days.

Grand Teton National Park

My friend Carol Schmilt who is our host for To Do Tuesday in British Columbia has also been affected by the same heat wave. Planning to link up with Carol this week. Check out the blog and the linkup for inspiring ideas.

Whew! What a chaotic two weeks! My daughter Caitlin is happily married and getting ready to two weeks of camping (and half marathons) with her new hubby at Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks. The wedding day went off without a hitch. It was great to see my grandson Shaun after almost six weeks. Here are a few photos from the wedding day:

With two quilt zoom days, I was hoping to have more to share with you. I only worked on foundation paper piecing on Friday. I meant to do some cutting over the weekend, but was distracted with other chores related to moving to a new home. LOL! Monday morning found me scrambling for things to do during my second quilt zoom day this week. A few that you will recognize and others that I worked on because they were unpacked.

I plan on linking up with Carole at Quilt Schmilt again this week for To Do Tuesday. Thanks Carole for hosting!! Come over and check out our small groups list of projects. Feel free to join in.
