QUILT DIARY: June 2021

This week’s blog is very challenging. WordPress had an update and I am struggling with the changes. I even consider myself computer savy (LOL), but I have been working on this for an hour…. I usually like to use my Ipad to write the blog because it is so much easier to insert photos but I am back to my laptop in an effort to get this blog written and hope WordPress fixes the apple app soon. Hopefully you will still enjoy the blog.

Well now I am a week late with this post but I am happy to report that WordPress fixed the iPad version so here we go!

Sparkle and Shine Mystery Quilt by Cotton Cuts

No change here other than I received clue 5 so now I need to do both 4 and 5. I have spent more time reorganizing my space versus actually sewing this month in anticipation of my new long arm.

Clue 10 Assembled!

We have a completed top! I just love the colors and design of this quilt top. It felt so good to finally finish assembling one of my mystery quilts. In anticipation of my new long arm, I need to assemble the back this week too!

Completed May block

I got the May block assembled and the June block cut out this month. I might get it pieced today which is the last day of June but I would not bet the farm! LOL!

APQ Resolution Update

Gypsy Mama – June Quilt

It would be wonderful to tell you I did something this month on this quilt. Alas, that is just wishful thinking. It just needs borders. Maybe I will get farther on July APQ quilt.

Wrap Up

Simba

Well, as I have told you guys before, I haven’t really been feeling a lot of mojo this month. Sometimes that happens. In those moments, just finishing one block or assembling one quilt top is a definite win.

Today I went for a 3.65 mile walk for a year long challenge I signed up for. I procrastinated so much this month, that here it is June 30th and I have to do my walk today. It’s hot and I had committments this morning and tonight so that left a lunch time walk. The whole last mile was just a chant – one step at a time. Just keep moving forward. Don’t stop. – Sound familiar? That is the same thing I tell myself in the no mojo months. Keep moving forward. Pick a fabric. Sew one square.

Hopefully, despite all the travel I will be doing in July and August, I will be more motivated because my new long arm will be installed this Friday, July 2nd. What a great birthday present for myself!

Happy quilting and wishing you a happy summer with friends and family.

  1. Hi Peggy! I didn’t realize WP had an update. I didn’t notice anything different – but then I use my laptop. When do you get your new longarm – oh, July 2nd. Fabulous!! That picture of Simba is so sweet!! I wonder what your walking challenge is? I have given myself one as well. I am upping my walking distance each month by 1,000 steps to get to 10,000 by/before the end of the year. I’m at 6,000 this month and have been consistently reaching that distance each day. I am worried about 7,000 for July and 8,000 for August – that’s when it’s really hot and humid. Since there’s a little leeway it may just be 7,500 for August. HAHA! Have fun with your new longarm. {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne
