UFO 2024 Update for March & April

MARCH project #12

Quilt Project: Zuma Charm Quilt

The Quilty project of the month was my 2019 Tula Pink Zuma Charm / Jelly Roll Quilt. I located this bright and cheerful project and figured out where I was. To start the month all the blocks were completed in 2019 as well as the first row. This week I full assembled three more rows. I was so happy to find I had made a color chart and left it in the box with the blocks!

Quilty Project: Potholders
Shamrock Potholders WIP 3/25/2024

This was a new start for the month. I decided on making shamrock potholders to go with my March collection of kitchen accessories. As of this week, I have the innards, the loop, and the backing prepared as well as the top. Just need to layer and quilt!

April project #11

Quilt Project: Halifax Temperature quilt for 2018 & 2019

I started this quilt when my daughter started Grad school at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. I got a little bored along the way and it got put away. This month will be about pulling it out and checking where we are on it. I don’t even know if I ever pulled all the temperatures for the two years I planned on doing. This is a HST column quilt with highs/lows each day. Plain black square fill in for the months that don’t have 31 days.

Quilty Project: Spring Placemats

This was originally going to be a new start, but since I started these spring placemats in March, I thought it would be a good idea if I finished them up. A perfect WIP right?

What Got Done This Week

I really only worked on my UFO’s this past week except for my leaders and enders project. I was able to finish piecing the spring placemats which I am sharing below 👇

Afterthoughts

Leaders and enders – 4 patch Daydreamer project WIP 3/29/2024

I have another Quilt Zoom day on Tuesday so I am doing the blog one day early (Monday). I hope to finish up the quilty projects and even finish assembling the Zuma quilt top during our zoom call tomorrow.

With my upcoming trip to Seattle to spend time with my brother Scott, I am not seeing much time in the sewing studio. You never know. I will also try to throw together an EPP project to take along with me as well as a cross stitch project. I also have to take my Immersion homework with me.

It should be a fun trip! Hanging out with my brother is always relaxing. I noticed there are a few museums close to our hotel which I hope to visit.

Good luck on this weeks project. Happy Sewing!
