To Do Tuesday #54

While this week was fairly productive, I did fall off the highly productive bandwagon during the week. This is to be expected. Overall things still went weel thi week.

I will be linking up with Carol over at Quilt Schmilt this week for To Do Tuesday. Come join us.

What Got Done this Week

I have been diligently working on my 100 days 100 blocks SAL that started July 1st. I haven’t sewn for the last 2 days so today I need to work on Block 18. I’ve been following Alison Glass’ layout but started changing things up this week because I would like a little more contrast.

I have continued working on these adorable 3 1/2 inch unfinished blocks for the 365 block challenge from 2018. I heard that in 2023 she finally did a new quilt. I am still working on the original one that Katherine Kerr made and shared for free. With this challenge, the little 3 inch blocks are way easier than the 6 inch blocks. After 6 years, I have finally got a system. LOL!!! I still need to do todays.

  1. Sewn 100 days 100 blocks through blocks 12- 17 / 100
  2. Cut blocks 18 – 22 for 100 days 100 blocks
  3. Sewn 365 blocks July 12th through 17th
  4. Have cut 365 blocks July 18 – July 22nd
  5. Started Queen of Diamonds block 1-2
  6. Cut blocks for patriotic table runner
Start of Queen of Diamonds blk 1-2

Afterthoughts

The new 12×18 wool mat for my ironing station is awesome. The only adjustment is my 8×8 cutting mat can no longer go in the corner of the ironing station which is okay. I never actually cut on the ironing station.

I pulled out a thread stand I had and mounted it on the wall away from the sun. Once it was up, I wished I had painted it. So yesterday I stopped by Hobby Lobby and picked up some teal paint. I hope to work that in this weeks to do’s. LOL. Meanwhile my thread is still piled on top of my long arm table.

“Having” to have two daily blocks done every day is starting to wear me down mentally. I tried to get a head but then I end up NOT ahead anymore. The good news as I haven’t totally slipped after two weeks. I am going to try a new tactic this week to see if it helps at all. While the blocks aren’t hard, they do take up most of my sewing time. I really want to finish up Shamrock Ridge this week so I can get my August applique project done before the end of the month.

We will see where we are. Maybe I should PLAN for a down day. Maybe if I did that it would be a more positive event. Whatever. I will figure it out. This is for fun and if I am not having fun, what’s the point. This week I am going to focus on being in my happy place!

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you enjoyed your stay and will come back again!

  1. Your 100 days 100 blocks are very pretty. The Queen of Diamonds project looks interesting. Concentrating on being in your happy place is the best thing to focus on Peggy – I’m all for it. 😀
