To Do Tuesday #50

Hello my friends! How time has flown since we last chatted. Last week was spent in Garderville and Reno, Nevada with my quilty friends Mary Elizabeth, Toni, and Teri. We had a great time shopping, eating, and just spending time together. We spent a day at the Reno Quilt Festival which was fun. The show was bigger than I expected and I spent way more money than planned. Saw lots of new vendors and some gorgeous quilts.

I will be linking up with Carol over at Quilt Schmilt for To Do Tuesday. Jump over and check it out if you aren’t already joining us. It just a place to share what we are working on and hope to accomplish.

Afterthoughts

This trip to Reno has stirred up a bunch of new projects that I didn’t originally plan on working on. I came home with:

  1. Complimentary fabric for another project bag that I had pulled from my stash.
  2. Found some lovely blender fabrics to use for patriotic projects.
  3. I bought a book with some very cute table runner projects. One that I just have to make is a snowman runner (for January) and the second is a patriotic table runner that is so fun looking! Lots of other adorable projects, but those two are high on the list.
  4. Found national park panels and complimentary fabrics which lead to another book purchase on different ways to assemble a quilt using panels. Not sure I want to start now, but….
  5. Also found 3 more panels in a series I had started to collect. I now have Jan-April, July, and November.
  6. Came across a teal monochromatic jelly roll which happen to be my favorite for jelly roll lap quilts. I purchased a charm pack and some complimentary fabric as well thinking I might be able to do a piano keyboard border. We shall see. Right now just a seed planted. I could instead do a charming squared quilt instead but I really do love making jelly roll race quilts out of monchromatic jelly rolls.
  7. I also picked up a couple of pairs of the most adorable small scissors and zippers as well as my first wool batting.

So many ideas and so little time to get everything done. For some reason, I was under the impression that once I retired, I would be knocking quilts out left and right. LOL!!!! I just love creating!

Good luck everyone on your projects this week. I hope next week to have knocked out a few things from my list as well as started a few more things! Now back to my happy place – my sewing studio!

  1. Peggy your trip looks like it was so much fun! And you came back inspired to do even more – lol! LOVE the Welcome Friends banner and the Tula Pink pot holders. I had just resolved not to participate in any more QALs for awhile, but that 100 days one is tempting. Did you buy the machine pieced pattern? I don’t want to invest $32 in the pattern and then not keep up, so I will have to think about it. I agree with you about so little time and so much to do!
