To Do Tuesday #14

Hello Fellow Quilters!

It has been a few weeks since I posted. I was overly optimistic about having energy to quilt while my brother was here. I love my brother and it was awesome spending time together – just the two of us. Several people left comments that they did not know how I was going to find time to quilt. LOL! Yea, that didn’t happen.

Jack Be Quick Completed Quilt

My brother is a true enabler though. We did visit quilt stores and he found us several to visit. Gotta love his support. Of course, he got to take home Jack Be Quick quilt for him and his wife. He was totally thrilled to get his hands on his second quilt.

I will be joining in with Linda at Texas Quilt Gal this week for To Do Tuesday even though it was a light week.

This Week’s To Do List (5/31 – 6/6/2022)

You all know the drill. I always list more than I will ever do but it allows me to work on what I am in the mood for. I have got to accommodate that ADD. You will be happy to know while I have finished anything; neither did I start anything!

To Do #1 – Quilt Name of the Rose Mystery Quilt

Yep. Still on my list. I turned on the machine to warm up and recharge my tablet. Giving some serious thoughts of finishing this on this weekend.

To Do #2 – Quilt my February (Heart) Table Runner

I don’t see any reason to not get this done if I finish the Rose quilt.

To Do #3 – Label for the Rose Quilt

We shall see. I mean really it should be easy peasie right?

To Do #4 – Sew First Border on Sunshine Quilt

I haven’t sewn anything in over two weeks. I am getting pretty antsy to sit at my sewing machine. This might be a nice way to ease back into things.

Possible borders
To Do #5 – Design pieced border for Sunshine Quilt

This is definitely a task I have to be in the mood to do in order to be happy with the results. How do you do things like this? I have EQ8, but for some reason I always find my self drawing on graph paper.

To Do #6 – Finish Clue #5 of Olympia Mystery Quilt

It’s just sitting there next to the sewing machine……

To Do #7 – Remove inner border on Charming Sunflowers
Charming Sunflower quilt top

I just can’t get past it. I do NOT like my inner black border. So I am going to throw the top next to my rocking chair to take it apart and next week I can re-add it with a softer black. Did I mention that I think I am going to add a third border to that quilt top? I am aiming for a floating effect.

To Do #8 – Finish Hand Sewing my Lost & Found EPP block 19
Quilt
Progress block 19 Lost & Found block

While there has been hockey, I haven’t actually worked on this for a couple of weeks. Not sure why? Gotta get back into my groove on this one.

To Do #9 – Sew 2 – 365 Quilt Blocks

Soon I am going to need to sew closer to 7 every week so to help myself get back into the groove I am shooting for two this week.

To Do #10 – Cut 2 – 365 Blocks

I’ve got 4 already cut and waiting, but I have to continually keep cutting. I don’t have enough mini design boards. So I either need to buy more or make some. Buying sounds so much easier….

To Do #11 – Cut June Monthly Color Challenge Block
June fabric selection

This month is Mustard Yellow. That is perfect because my Alison Glass collection definitely has a ton of that color. I am still making 6 inch blocks to be incorporated in the quilt at some point.

Wrap Up

That wraps up this weeks LONG list. I am still on the Finish up Some WIPs train through June 20th at least. We will keep plugging away.

Cuddling with Cali

I thought I would share a picture of Cali sleeping on my lap this week. She has been extremely needy since I got back from Paso Robles with my brother. She has even started poking my face to wake me up in the mornings to pet her.

Good luck everyone!!!!

  1. Awww that sweet Cali missed you! So glad you got to spend time with your brother. I was the “baby sister” and miss my two older brothers every day. I look forward to seeing your “softer black”, and your Name of the Rose quilt is beautiful. How neat that your longarm is big enough to accommodate two projects. What size are your mini design boards? Do you use one for each block of the 365?
Thank you for sharing with us at To Do Tuesday!
