Floss Friday #7

Welcome Back! It Friday before Mother’s Day and I feel like the week has not been as productive with my Cross Stitch this week. I am sure that is because I didn’t stitch on something new every day this past week. Let’s see what I did do.

FINISH: March Cottage of the Month by Country Cottage Needleworks

Completed March Cottage of the Month

I really wanted to finish this project in April so I did focus last Friday and Saturday just on this project. It was stitched on 28 ct lambswool linen with called for colors. I wish I had more contrast on the house so the shamrock would stand out more, but alas, I am NOT redoing it.

FINISH & START: April Barn Sweet Barn design by Lori Holt.

This is a year long stitch along with Kimberly at Fat Quarter Shop. I started this project on Sunday and wrapped it up on Tuesday. It felt pretty good to finish. I do love my colors I chose for the pinks, the rest are called for DMC. I stitched this on 20 ct white lugana.

I am antsy to finish this one up. I was pleased that this week I was able to finish up the Snow Globe section. That just leaves the Quilt section. There is 3 different sizes for all the Let’s Talk patterns. This one is the largest one. I am so thrilled to be so close to finish.

I pulled this back out last night and will work on it again this week until I finish the teddy bear. I only had an hour last night but every little bit helps right?

He is being stitched on Picture this Plus 28 ct Legacy lugana with called for Classic Colorwork threads. Still totally in love with his outfit in Jelly Roll

Looking Back

April turned out pretty good but not nearly as productive as I had planned. Still it was good. I started the month with 20 WIPs and finished with 23 WIPs. My one finish was the above March Cottage of the Month. (Now you can see why I was determined to finish it in April).

I had hoped to have 6 new starts. In reality, I had 4 which was plenty. I spent about an hour stitching on April Trucking Along, Heartfelt Charity SAL, Sail Away, and Tea Thyme. I ended up putting off the start for April Barn Sweet Barn and Let’s Talk Spring. I also pulled out of storage Feels Like Home and Butterfly Dream. I never worked on them last month because of my lovely vacations in Seattle and Hawaii.

Looking Ahead

On my to do list this week is

  1. Finish Mr February’s teddy bear
  2. Work on April page of Fruit of Plenty
  3. Complete “March” photograph of the March Snap Shot series
  4. Stitch the flower in part 7 of my Prim Stitch series
  5. I will for sure finish at least 2 hearts from Release 2 of Heartfelt Charity sitchalong. Meanwhile I am hoping that goes quickly so I can finish all of release 2 this week.
Cat
Nala, Mom’s little helper!

That carries me through Monday on my planner. My monthly goals are super crazy. I have plans to finish Let’s Talk Winter, Mr February, and March Snapshot as well as to start and finish the May Barn Sweet Barn. I am planning on starting May Calendar Crates as well as work on my other projects including Just My Type, Oracle SAL, Feels Like Home.

Enjoy your weekend and thanks for stopping by!
