EPP QUILT DIARY: Christmas and Other Stitching

Beginning this week, I started switching from the Halloween/Fall mode into Christmas mode. I have pulled a few projects that I would like to put together for Christmas and putting away all my Halloween projects. I will be sharing that with you.

I have been rotating which project I work on each time so now I am feeling more accomplished because I get a little done on each project. Currently I only have 4 active projects.

1920 Farmer’s Wife Quilt

Block 44 – Gentleman’s Fancy

I was able to finish up this all white block for this quilt. I prepped all of block 43 which had about 30 pieces this month as well. I hope to show you that one next time. It is also all white. All white blocks are interesting to try and do. I am still using Alison Glass fabrics. While it is “white” I feel pretty good about still being able to SEE the block

Block 14 Progress

Here is row 1 and half of row 2 done on block 14. I just have left the rest of row 2 and row 3 to do including making the row 3 units.

I was able to get block 15 & 16 cut out and block 15 is almost all glue prepped. I only have 12 white triangles left to glue. I am really enjoying this project.

Ruby’s Double Diamond Quilt

Current block in process

I am feeling pretty good with how far I have got on this block. I am not a big green fan but I really do like how this Lori Holt fabric blends so well. These blocks are so fun because you create texture with each block.

Halloween Hexie Swap Project Progress

One of my last flowers completed

While I have made a number of Halloween hexie flowers with my hexies from the swap. I am going to set this project aside today as working on Halloween makes me all anxious. It will be fun to pick this project back up next year.

Paper Pieces Christmas Tree Ornaments

Tree Ornaments with mini charms

I have gone through my stash. I thought I had a second collection of ornaments but this was the only one I found. Then I went through all my mini charms and pulled my Christmas ones that had some good contrast. All the pieces for these ornaments are one inch.

I traditionally give my kids and grandkids an ornament in their stockings. This year I would like to make one ornament for my family this year versus purchasing them an ornament.

Hockey was cancelled this week for the next month so that leaves me having to plan my EPP time or I won’t get any. There is 4 weeks until Christmas and I have 5-6 ornaments to make. Two of them have to be mailed to Canada. I need to get hopping.

Wrap Up

To Do Wish List

I got this pattern this year and I kind of hoped to work on it. Right now it still just a wish. The good news is I really got all of my EPP stuff organized over the Thanksgiving weekend. Pulling together projects. I have three other projects besides the New Hexagon projects in my stash. To help myself through December, I think I am going to re-institute my 15 minutes a day which I used a lot during 2019 before we started traveling alot for hockey.

I hope your Thanksgiving holiday was good and you had plenty of food! Enjoy your day!
