Welcome Back! Once again I will be linking this post with Carol over at Quilt Schmilt. Thank you Carol for hosting To Do Tuesday! If you have not already, come join us or just take a look around at all the great projects. While most of the projects are quilty, they can be anything.

What Was Under the Needle This Week

While I didn’t have a whole day of quilting this week, I did some intentional sewing this week. I felt good and I accomplished several things on my List.
- Finished the March Cottage for my 2024 SJ Temperature Cottage Quilt.
- I assembled the first three months into my first row of the Temperature quilt
- I finished assembling my final strip set that I will be using for the piano border on my Zuma Charm quilt.
- Finished appliquing and quilting my December Gnome from Gnome is Where the Heart Is
- Cut the binding strips and hanging sleeves for the December Gnome
- Layered and up and prepped the Spring coasters
Finishes

Whoo Hoo! I finally finished my Shamrock Potholders this week. I was experimenting with two different finishing techniques than I usually do. Once definitely didn’t work well and the other was okay. Not sure if I will use again. Just super excited to have finished these.

Afterthoughts

I am always changing it up with my crafting / hobbies. One technique works for awhile until it doesn’t. So this week I decided to do what I call intentional sewing. I went into the sewing room with a goal in mind. Honestly, most of the time I sew because I am stressed not because I want to finish anything. So this intentional sewing meant I was a bit more mindful what I was working on and doing.
Why?
I have a number of projects that are close to finishing. While finishing is definitely satisfying, it is not what I find the most pleasure doing nor is it stress reducing. So now I have a backlog of WIPS that are only one or two steps away from being finished. This week I am going to make an actual list of all those wips and REALLY look at them.

I am thinking I could easily knock out at least two more projects to the completed stage – Spring Coasters and Spring Placemats. But I am wondering 🤔 ~ How many more are close?
LOL! My favorite parts of quilting is planning the project and making the bits and pieces. Now that I am retired, I don’t have any pressing deadlines whether that be in my work life or personal life. There is literally never a sense of urgency anymore. This is why I do these UFO challenges in hopes that will help. That is not working either. I know everyone gets stuck. We just got to push through. I am just sharing some of my thought process of how I am getting unstuck.
Meanwhile, enjoy all the pretty colors and varied projects that I am currently working on. Have a great week everyone and happy quilting!!!!!

Nala is so sweet. My kitties all take a turn snoozing on the longarm, so when the quilts are quilted, their furs are part of the quilt – lol! Love the potholders, they look so pretty in your kitchen. I really enjoy the progress on your temperature cottages. I’ve been organizing and getting my priorities laid out in the sewing room – guess that is intentional. I just wish more hours in the day for sewing plus housework plus gardening plus errands!
