To Do Tuesday #7

This past week ended up being very unproductive. It was one of those weeks where I was very distracted by e-reader. LOL!

Last Week’s To Do

  • Assemble Sunshine quilt rows 7-9 (finished row 7 and started on row 8)
  • Find Over & Under quilt binding (no luck locating but lots of sorting done)
  • Wind bobbins for long arm (nada)
  • Load and prep Black & Gold quilt on long arm (nada)
  • Layer & Quilt March table runner (prepped but not quilted)
  • Assemble February table runner top (nada)
  • Cut 2022 Jan, Feb, Mar Monthly Color Challenge blocks (still planning)
  • Assemble Clue 1 of MSAL (done)

Week March 22nd – March 28th

While last week was unsuccessful, I have a sew day with my quilty friends this week so I am rolling over all the tasks and expanding.

To Do #1 – Finish Assembling Sunshine Quilt Center
Sunshine quilt progress

It has been nice to continue making progress on this kit I assembled back in 2009 when I participated in my LQS strip club. I think I have about a dozen that I collected from back then. I only have row 8 and row 9 to assemble. I have continued adding all the rows to the center. Loving how it is turning out.

To Do #2 – Binding ready for Over & Under quilt

I spent some serious time looking for the binding this past week in the most likely places that I should have put it. If I don’t find it by the weekend, then I will be checking my batik stash for appropriate fabric to remake the binding. It’s a bit frustrating to know you have something but can’t find it. I want to bind by end of month so I have to have binding by end of this week one way or the other.

To Do #3 – Bobbins wound for Black & Gold quilt

This not being done is just downright laziness on my part. Just need to focus to get this done and switch out the purple for yellow on my long arm.

Loading the Black & Gold quilt
To Do #4 – Quilt Black & Gold quilt

Since I have been dragging my feet, I have been dragging my feet getting this done. I already have the pattern picked out. So I want to have everything ready to quilt on Friday when I will be in the sewing room the whole day for my Zoom Quilt day with my friends.

To Do #5 – Quilt March Table Runner
March Table runner top and back

This is a hobby. This is for fun. But darn it, I really wish I had finished this one earlier in the month. Goal for this week is to finish the quilting. Sounds like next week will be a lot of binding….

To Do #6 – Assemble February Table Runner
Heart Blocks to be used in February Table Runner

I really want to put this project away for the rest of this year. In order to do that, I need to finish assembling the top while I have a plan in my mind.

To Do #7 – Cut 2022 Monthly Color Challenge blocks for Jan, Feb, Mar

That Nike quote comes to mind. Just do it! I already decided to make 6 inch blocks this year for a possible pieced border.

To Do #8 – Assemble 2022 Monthly Color Challenge March block

Well I really would like to finish all three, but I will be happy to at least get the current block done. I’m prepping things to do for Friday. Do you guys do that too when you have a play date planned?

To Do #9 – Assemble Clue 2 of Olympia MSAL

I pulled out clue 2 and laid out on boards for things to do on Friday. There is only two blocks in this clue but they do have a lot of pieces. This one has a lot of purple and blue batiks which are very pretty. Batiks are so easy to iron into place. I have enjoyed sewing with them.

  1. Peggy, you have such pretty and interesting projects. I love the Sunshine Quilt and your black and gold beauty. You have really neat shelving behind your long arm. LOVE the fabrics on your Olympia MSAL! I did not join the Monthly Challenge this year, but I love the idea of making 6 inch blocks to use in borders. I’m going to pull out the 6-inchers I made from past couple years and label them for that use, so thank you!
Thank you for linking up with To Do Tuesday!

  2. Yikes what a list of things planned for the coming week! Hmm, I smiled at the “can’t find the binding”, reminds me of times I desperately search for something amongst my quilting stuff for something I can’t remember where I put it. Hope it turns up. All the best for the week.
