The week just seemed to fly by. We had another atmospheric river storm that started today along with high winds. Thursday was a race ahead of the last storm to Southern California while Sunday was a beautiful day in So Cal, we drove into another storm here in San Jose. Lots and lots of rain this spring. The reservoirs I drove past were starting to hit capacity so I am keeping my fingers crossed that it helps with the drought we have been in.
I will be linking up with Carol over at Quilt Schmilt again this week. Thank you Carol for being an awesome host.
What Got Done this Week?

Wrap Up
For those who are interested, Shaun’s team ended up 3rd at States out of a total of 22 teams this year. They were devastated to be eliminated as they truly believed they could win. At one point over the weekend, they beat all the other teams there. They just ran out of gas. I am very proud of them. While hockey season is technically over, we still have practice and one more showcase in Chicago to attend this spring.
Meanwhile, this week I started my Surface Pattern Design class which is exciting. Last week was Orientation which I missed half of so have been watching all the videos the last couple of days. We had our first group call yesterday going over the materials we received in the mail. Later today, I will open up the first lesson on how to use Adobe Illustrator. Very Exciting!
The utilization of my digital planner is getting more intuitive every week. I am finally started to get some flow. Letting go of the paper is hard.
Good luck on all of your projects this week!!!
Peggy
Peggy I can’t believe how mush you accomplished in a week when you were travelling. That’s a shame the kids got only third, but still a great accomplishment. It’s quite the job to get that far in playoffs! I love the Hawaian Charms quilt and all of your pretty blocks. Those atmospheric rivers can be devastating as we discovered last year when the one that hung over us caused horrendous damages to some of our major highways here in British Columbia. People had to go around through the US to get from some parts of BC to others.
Looking at your list for this week I’m hoping you have been having fun and getting lots done! Thank you for linking with To Do Tuesday.
Thank you Carol for your support! Our roads seem to be holding up but we have tons of downed trees and mudslides. We are expecting another this week 😳
Hi Peggy! Oh, those Hawaiian prints as the centers of your blocks looks so pretty. I love the color placement you chose, as well. And Nala looks so relaxed posing on top of it! Did you have a charm pack or did you cut your own? I know I picked up some Hawaiian fabric when I visited . . . it’s somewhere safe and sound. The Heart mug rugs are so cute! Placing THIRD in State is very impressive. Great job! {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne
Hi Roseanne. It was a purcased “charm” pack in Maui if 110 4.5 inch squares. I originally purchased border fabric but I may not use it because I really like how the rainbow 🌈 stands out. Nala loves her fabric! Later she was trying to tunnel under to take a nap 😴. I’m very proud of the hockey boys.
Even though Shaun’s team was disappointed, it sounds like they did a great job. Enjoyed your post with the kitty “eye-candy” 🙂 Love your heart mug rugs!
Thanks Linda! Yes they were devastated yet they know they did well. Nala has been the stinker recently so she’s been in more photos.
I hope the rain helps with the drought! I love all of your projects–the fabric choices are so bright and welcoming! (A couple of those blocks have given me some inspiration for some squirreling I think I’ll do tomorrow!). And yes, sewing DOES make everything better!
Your White Hawaiian Charm quilt is a stunner as is your beautiful cat.
Thank you. That is Nala. She is definitely a Material Girl. She is constantly bringing me packages of fabric that she likes. Lol!
