The past two weeks have found me on the road more days than not. I am feeling a bit harried. This week won’t be any better because it is time for Pacific International Quilt Show here in the Bay Area. It starts tomorrow night and goes all the way until Sunday. I have classes both Thursday and Friday with my quilty friends which is always a lot of fun and games.
I am still going to link up with Linda @ www.texasquiltgal.com Thank you once again for hosting!
What Got Done!
Haha! Not much but a few things.
- I finished my second set of orange churn dash blocks
- I have made the borders and attached 2 of the 4 to the fall quilt.
- I was able to sew a few more Tula Pink Tiny Beast blocks
- I have 10 of 12 one inch hexie/triangle units done for the Lost and Found EPP block 20
To Do List #23: Week of October 12th
This past week I attended a cross stitch finishing class which I will share more in depth on my Floss Friday coming up. I missed posting a to do list last week and kept working on Week 22 with only being home 6 out of the last 14 days. Did I mention it’s hockey season……
To Do #1 – Finish adding borders to my Fall Quilt
So close to having this done. I posted video on my Instagram account of Nala being extremely helpful with this particular project. My quilty friends helped me pick my borders and I think they look fantastic. I can’t wait until I get it quilted because I absolutely love my binding as well.
To Do #2 – Make 10″ design board
I am in desperate need of more boards. I just need to focus to get these done. It would come in so handy with my 365 and hawaiian quilt blocks.
To Do #3 – Cut blocks June 25th & 26th
Still need to cut these. I am always having to juggle all my design boards which is why I really need to make a whole batch. I have material to make 6 and I sure can use them just for this quilt.
To Do #4 – Cut Monthly Color Challenge October block
Can you believe it is already October? I need to make a fabric pull and cut this block to be ready for our next Zoom quilty call next week.
To Do #5 – Row 5 Hawaiian Quilt
All ready to sew…
To Do #6 – Finish Sewing Tula Pink blocks
I am about halfway through the final 40 blocks and am now getting a bit anxious to finish. A couple of weeks ago, I bought some potential border fabric that I am anxious to audition.
To Do #7 – Lost & Found block #20
It would be nice to finish this block, but I will be happy if I finish round 1 this weekend (After PIQF, is another hockey weekend in our home town)
To Do #8 – Prep for PIQF classes on Thursday & Friday
I am taking two classes. One is how to use the iPad to design quilts and quilt patterns. Something different and fun, but I need to download all the apps for the class.
The second class is a Mystery Quilt so I need to pull together my sewing machine and all tools needed to work on this one on Friday with my friends.
Wrap Up!
The month of October is always a crazy month for me with hockey and PIQF, then I added in a cooking class and cross stitch finishing class too. We began the month with a Hockey weekend, then Cross Stitch weekend, now its Hockey and Quilt show weekend all in one. The good news is that Shaun’s team has done well enough that it looks like we will get the last weekend off! Two weeks in a row at home after being gone for three will be like heaven.
Let’s see how much we can check off from this week’s list:
- Finish adding borders to Fall quilt
- Make 10″ design board
- Cut 2 365 blocks
- Cut MCC block
- Finish Row 5 of Hawaiian quilt
- Finish piecing all the Tula Pink blocks
- Finish round 1 of L&F block 20
- Prep for PIQF classes.
I will have so much to share next week and don’t forget to take a peek at Friday’s blog to see what happened last weekend. (I probably won’t get it up until Saturday)
Good luck everyone!

I got such a kick watching Nala paw at the fabric then get under it! My Rosie does that too, always cracks me up. LOVE your orange churn dashes. Simba’s paws are the star of the show – lol! Will you take your classes at a quilt show? You are so organized with your projects – you inspire me. Thank you for sharing with To Do Tuesday!
I only signed up for two classes at the quilt show this year. One was about learning how to use Ipad apps for quilting and the other was a Mystery Quilt Along with all my quilty friends. Yes it was at the show.
Because I am ADHD, I tend to have to be organized with my projects in order to make progress. But occasionally my ADHD gets the better of me and I “lose” stuff. I have been looking for my applique project box for months and still haven’t located it. I “cleaned” up a while back and now I can’t find it. #sigh
LOL! I was just chasing Simba around the house as he had thread in his mouth. I traced it back to my long arm spool. Naughty boy!
