To Do Tuesday #169

Hello Quilty Friends! How is your February going? We have had lovely weather here in the PNW – blue skies each afternoon. I know it won’t last, but I am enjoying every day that we get.

I will be linking up with Carol at Quilt Schmilt who is in British Columbia. Join us for this weekly link up and share your projects.

Project Updates

I got a little focused on finishing up my english paper piecing (WIPGO) goal, that not much else happened. But I did finish my Queen of Diamonds Month 3 Block 4.

Queen of Diamonds block 3-4 finished

I will need to cut all of the month 4 blocks before working on this project so meanwhile, I have pulled out block 50 from my Farmer’s Wife 1920 EPP project.

Looking at this one, I think I will put together the pinwheels first then assemble the three rows. I look forward to working with some of my Alison Glass purples.

WIPGO January Update

January 2026 WIPGO – Projects 2 & 7

I have good news and bad news. First the bad news, I didn’t acheive either of my long arm goals – edge to edge and using fill.

The good news is as you can see above, I finished my EPP block. I also almost finished my bind a quilt project. Well, I got a project to the step where it is ready to be bound. So these three unfinished goals will be following me into February.

WIPGO February Goals

WIPGO February 2026: Projects 5 & 22
Long Arm Goals
  • #5 = Watch training video (I have plenty to choose from since I don’t remember the steps for Edge to Edge (Jan), fill (Jan), or masking (Feb).
  • #22 = Work on an applique project using masking

These will definitely taking me out of my comfort zone. Still have to push through and get at least two goals done.

Quilting Goals
  • #5 💠 Make a pieced border. The timing is perfect as I finished making all my flying geese units for my Stars Aligned quilt. It will be fun to work on this.
  • #22 💠 Make a label. Theoritically this should be easy peasy with a quilt from January still to be bound. Label seems like the next step. Or what if I actually get one of my edge to edge projects done?! Exciting.

Weekly To Do List

Churn Dash block

I only checked off one thing from last week’s list – Finished Queen of Diamonds block 3-4. I never made it upstairs all week. That makes me sad when I think about it. Good intentions. On the other hand, I did get the slow stitching bug 🐛

My plan for this week will be:

  • BIND Not My Kitten
  • Trim Stars Aligned flying geese units
  • Finish the second churn dash that was for January.
  • Start sewing the Autumn Seeds block 3
  • Sew January Monthly Color Challenge block
  • Print off the February Monthly Color Challenge block
  • Watch Edge to Edge lesson for long arm (WIPGO goal ✋🏼)
  • Load quilt onto long arm
  • Continue loading fabric on mini bolts
  • Keep an eye out for that missing insert for my sewing table.

Musings

Except for my fur baby companions! New month, new goal – 15 minutes a day in the sewing room. Day 1 and 2 didn’t materialize. C’est la vie. Let’s see if I can make the next 7 days a success. LOL 🤩

Have a great week everyone!

  1. Ooh, such a pretty EPP block! WIPGO for quilting, who knew? I thought it was just a cross stitch thing. I’m headed to my MIL’s week after next to go play on her longarm and we’re supposed to be trying ruler quilting. Even one thing checked off is progress so don’t sweat it. You’re still lapping people whose projects are standing still!

  2. Peggy you definitely have the slow stitching bug. In your defense this project is going to be stunning and you are still organizing a studio and learning a new longarm. I think you did well to get as much done on your To Do List! Thank you for sharing your lovely eye candy on To Do Tuesday. I’m sure this will be a better week for getting in to your studio, but there is more hand stitching to do. 🤗

  3. I don’t do well with the various 15 minutes a day goals (sewing, cutting scraps, whatever).I’m more of a marathon worker, start early and work late on a good day. =) And like you, my project focus changes, only instead of slow stitching, I vary between knitting and piecing. I don’t get quilting into the mix often enough so I have many UFOs.
