Not a lot to share this week. I have no idea what happened to the time. All of a sudden it’s July 2025! Nothing real exciting happened this week. Helped Caitlin move from her rental house to her rental townhome. Jannes made it back safely from his job interview in New Zealand. We are having a mini heat wave (but nothing like last years). Yesterday we hit a high of 94F yesterday. Only supposed to be 88F today then we will be back to our normal 70’s. Really not sure what happened to my week. Hmm…
I plan to link up with Carol at Quilt Schmilt for To Do Tuesday. Check it out!

(A Little Bit of ) Weekly Progress

While I was in my sewing room multiple days this week, I was distracted with rounding up cross stitch projects, kitting XS projects, finding XS fabric & floss. I did do some sewing though. I mostly worked on completing my Are You Game? Cotton Cuts mystery quilt. I did a large and a small that time and this is the small. I finished assembling and adding the sides to the quilt. Just need to assemble the top and bottom pieces before adding all the borders. Getting close to be done with this 2021 project.
Between pieces of Are You Game? I added another strip to the final rail fence strip set and started a peacock block.
FYI – I did finish sewing, cutting, trimming, and laying out two more Miss Rosie’s Layer Cake sets for my Peacock Colorstory. That makes a total of 6 blocks to be sewn.
I also spent time looking for my patriotic projects. I found the bag of patriotic fabric to be used for napkins and placemats and my patriotic project bag but not the table runner which is halfway quilted. Maybe today…..
So recap of what I worked on this week:
- Are You Game? Mystery quilt
- Rail Fence quilt
- Peacock Colorstory blocks
Weekly To Do List

I don’t have many of these. I tend to only abandon class projects (or more like forget about or lose LOL!). I have set aside when I have taken on a quilt where I still need to learn skills but no TOADS that I recall. (Fun little wander into whimsey.)
This week’s list looks pretty much the same as last week’s list:
- Finish sewing final rail fence strip set and subcutting into 4 – 10 inch blocks
- Assemble the top and bottom units of Are You Game? Small Mystery quilt
- Finish two Rosie’s Peacock Colorstory blocks
- Change my needle after working with papers
- Change my rotary blade as well
- Another 30 minutes unpacking the studio
- Setup ironing station
- Setup cutting station
- Finish (after finding) patriotic table runner
- Work on patriotic project bag
- Sketch out the sewing studio floor plan
- Finish the Ruby’s Garden block 25
- Prep for Monday Quilt Zoom Day
- Cut Dragonfruit Month 8 blocks
Musings

Last week I showed you the long arm setup in my California room and taked about the retrofit. I thought I would show you what the current Long Arm room looks like before it is reassembled. Walk carefully around the room! I did move the cross stitch supplies to this room because I feel that overall there will be more room in this one as it is bigger and I just have to many projects in the other room. I have been toying with how to put the fabric in my Ikea bookshelves. Not much progress yet.
I still don’t have a date for when Gammill will be here to put my baby together but I knew it wouldn’t be until July. Of course, it is only July 1st. I am just being impatient.
Not much else to share this week. My mind is as chaotic as my sewing studio at this point. 🤪
Have a great fourth of July and I see you next week!

Oh my gosh Peggy! I’ve never heard of a TOAD before! I’m still giggling. Your longarm room looks like you should have plenty of space once you get everything set up. I’m sure you won’t even notice adding the cross stitch supplies to it. It’s hard waiting for people to come and do their thing when you have a new toy (addition to your long arm) to learn. Great job on your progress this week. Are you Game is lovely and will be one sweet finish when you get the long arm set up. Thank you for joining ToDo Tuesday and sharing your progress. I’m looking forward to seeing your long arm room once you get everything set up and organized. 😁 Carol
Okay, TOAD is now added to my Quilter’s Acronym list, LOL! It’s the equivalent to WOMBAT. The months are starting to fly by and once we hit Augustm the holiday months come crashing in like meteors!! Ooh, how exciting that you are prearing for a delivery of a new long arm. The song “Anticipation” would be an earworm in my head until it’s arrival if I was in your shoes! I had a similar month where cross stitch was king and quilting had to take a back seat. but crafty is happy whatever the medium!
