Welcome to this week’s edition of quilty things. Still moving in so not much happened until yesterday when I spent the afternoon in the sewing studio with my Covid kitties – Simba and Nala.
I will not be linking up with Carol this week because I didn’t really do any sewing this week, but please check out the linkup so you can see what others are doing!

What I Got Done Last Week
I mostly worked on unpacking the house including the sewing room one night. I sorted through about 25 boxes and put away another 8. I have delayed putting away kits for now until I get all the WIPs put away and the books.

I realized the whole week had slipped by me after last Tuesday taking my sewing machine in to be worked on (and fixed same day!!!). Yesterday (Monday) I was determined to do SOMETHING quilty related. The sewing machine is still not hooked back up but I did pull out my Dragonfruit Block of the Month. Saw that I never finished pulling the papers from Month 5, so I finished that up with a little help. I got the 4 blocks laid out with the intention of sewing them together. Simba thought they made a better pillow.
In the process I discovered that my mini iron won’t heat anymore so sewing was really out anyway as I haven’t found any of my other irons. So I went ahead and ordered a new mini iron as well as a new cordless iron which was starting to leak water anyway. Amazon says I should get it Tuesday (today).

I went ahead and started working on Month 6. Found the fabric from other months to use it up before cutting into the Month 6 bundle. I got all 16 blocks cut and sorted. I am ready to sew. All of that took a few hours so I called it a night so I could watch the Warriors game and get some dinner.

I thought I would also share how Nala contributed to all of this. She slept the day away but I discovered she had opened Month 6 fabric pack and left me a little … gift.

What I Hope to Do This Week
I had a nice short list from last week which had more unpacking and prepping then sewing. This week I hope to transistion to more sewing days. Here is what I am thinking:
- Get my Bernina 880 back on the sewing table.
- Finish sewing together Dragonfruit Month 5 blocks
- Start sewing Dragonfruit Month 6 blocks
- Sew together a strip set for the Rail Fence project for Steven
- Continue unpacking WIPs and books
- Check on my Bernina 770QE back in California
- Order samples for my future design wall.
My main focus is still unpacking and will be for a while, but I sure found yesterday’s day in the sewing room peaceful and I need more of those.
Afterthoughts

Not a lot to share this week quilty wise. It sure feels good to be sharing. It’s even motivating me to have something more to share as I slowly unpack my new digs.
May is sneaking up on me fast. It will be the perfect time to reset my Quilt goals (LOL – acutally make some this month) as I continue to organize and put together my new sewing space.
Have a great week everyone!!!
