Week 12 To Do List (May 10th – May 16th)

This week I have a quilting with friends day on Friday so am prepping some stuff for that day, but my brother gets here on Sunday morning and we head off onto a roadtrip until Wednesday. So it should be a semi-productive week.

To Do #1 – Quilt Name of the Rose Mystery Quilt

I was so excited to find a perfect backing and have even loaded the backing on the frame already. I still need to cut batting and a design but I feel very optimistic that it can happen.

Loaded Rose quilt and February table runner
To Do #2 – Quilt February Table Runner

Well, the backing for the Rose quilt is also perfect for the backing for this table runner. I am going to give it a try quilting both projects at the same time. I’ve never done it, but I can’t see any reason why it shouldn’t work. Be very cool if everything goes as anticipated….

To Do #3 – Label for Rose quilt

I don’t usually make labels for anything except my quilts. If I get the quilt quilted this week, then I will probably go ahead and make the label for the quilt. I already have ideas running around in my head for the label.

To Do #4 – Sew first border on Sunshine Quilt

This is from last week and should be easy peasy to do. It is cut and ready.

Possible borders
To Do #5 – Design pieced border #2 for Sunshine Quilt

I still need to finish designing this. I have already cut up some of my fabric in 6 1/2 squares but I have yet to put thought to paper to make sure I know what I am cutting.

To Do #6 – Cut May Monthly Color Challenge Blocks

Friday is my sew day so I got to get this cut so I can sew them up on Friday! Blue is the color this month and I am going to make the bonus block too.

Selected blues from new arrivals
To Do #7 – Piece May Monthly Color Challenge Blocks

Obviously if I need them cut for Friday, I plan to sew them on Friday! Haha!

To Do #8 – Sew up Clue #5 of the Olympia Mystery SAL
Completed Clue 4

I got clue 4 finished and pulled out clue #5 as back up for something to sew on Friday just in case…..

To Do #9 – Baste last Lost & Found block (EPP)

I had a very successful week last week. I got 2 out of 3 blocks basted. This week is to finish basting the last one.

Subunits for block 19
To Do #10 – Work on Lost & Found block #19 (EPP)

I got the small 1 inch hexies sewn to the even tinier 1 inch equilateral triangles to form a unit I can 1,2,3,2 units. I will start the process of attaching the 3 inch side to the 3 inch hexie which is the center of this block. This will be round 1 on this block. It goes fairly quickly now that I have the sub units made.

To Do #11 – Cut One 365 quilt block
365 quilt challenge medallion plus first dark border made of 90 three inch blocks

I started to leave this off but decided I need to push through. Once again, I really want to have one ready to sew on Friday for our Zoom Quilt Day with my quilty friends.

Recap for Week 12

While I have a sew day for this week, I also will be out of town Sunday through Wednesday. I pick up my brother from SFO airport on Sunday and we have a 3 day excursion planned then we get back home and family is coming to see him. Doesn’t effect this week as much as next week. I will try to be very diligent with my list to get as much done.

  1. Quilt Name of the Rose Quilt (May’s APQ Resolution quilt)
  2. Quilt February Table Runner at same time do Rose quilt
  3. Make a label for the Rose quilt
  4. Sew first border on Sunshine Quilt
  5. Design second border (pieced) for Sunshine Quilt
  6. Cut May Monthly Color Challenge blocks
  7. Sew May Monthly Color Challenge blocks
  8. Sew Clue #5 of Olympia Mystery SAL
  9. Baste final Lost & Found quilt block
  10. Continue working on Lost & Found block 19
