Under the Needle Last Week

Most of my time was spent off the sewing machine prepping projects. This week I focused more on my applique so let’s take a look.

  1. My missing piece for the November Gnome Is Where the Heart Is on Saturday. I was able to fuse and complete all the machine applique.
  2. While I was working on November Gnome, I also worked on the January Gnome. While this was not my main focus, I was able to get over half of the applique done on the January Gnome as well.
  3. While working on the October Cottage, I determined that my HST stash was low for two colors. I still need to trim them, but they are sewn and ironed.
  4. I finished the October Cottage through October 24th. Next week I will finish up this block and it will have a tree too which is always fun.
  5. I couldn’t resist squeezing in another tiny 4 inch block (Mulberry) for the Dragonfruit quilt I started this month.
  6. I have no idea why fabric markers dry out so quickly, but I had to order more markers so I could finish the labels for Bunny Knoll and the next in the series Blossom Trail. I finished Bunny Knoll and have Blossom Trail sketched out with frixon pen. Instead of sewing into the binding, I will be fusing it to the back this time.

Afterthoughts

Under the needle – Mulberry block

While having the lists helps me a lot, I am still easily distracted 🐿️ which is fine in the moment. Boy do I beat myself up later 😶‍🌫️. Then I have a little talk with myself 🧐 reminding myself I do this because I love 💕 it. If it was really about finishing ✔️, then I should only have a few projects to work on ☝️.

As you can imagine that talk went in one ear and out the other 🙉. Darn ADHD quilter. LOL! There are moments when I wish I could be a monogamy quilter. But then I come to my senses because where would the fun be in that!

I hope you enjoyed my internal dialogue. Have a great week and I wish you lots of progress on your own projects.

  1. Peggy it’s always a lot of fun visiting you so I can see which of your many projects you’ve been working on. I love your Gnome blocks, your temperature blocks and those sweet dragonfruit blocks. Thank you for linking with ToDo Tuesday and sharing the link to our party. I do hope you’ve had lots of fun this week and got more of those satisfying check marks on this weeks list. 😉

  2. The Dragonfruit quilt looks interesting. What patience you must have for small blocks! I’m going to have to look back on your blog posts and see how you do your labels. I hang my head in shame for not labeling my quilts. Have a great rest of the week Peggy!
