It has been a buys week with lots of travel. I managed to watch Shaun via streaming while he was in LA and I was in Seattle. I got to spend quality time with my daughter. We had afternoon tea, shopping, and hiking as well as great food. One night we had Dim Sum and another seafood. She made homemade pasta another night. Yummy! Let’s take a look at what I did work on this week.
Starts & Finishes
I only had one start this week.
WIPGO Project: WinterTime (A Stitch Quarterly Project by Fat Quarter Shop)
This is one of my two WIPGO projects this month. It was a bit unsettling when I arrived at Caitlin’s and realized I forgot a few things. I improvised so I could work on this project while I was gone.
It is hard to tell in the pictures (the lighting is wrong), but this is being stitched on mint opalescent 14 count aida. I am loving this stitch! I am sad that I will have to set it aside to work on other WIPs this month. I have a foot to finish on the polar bear and then two trees (one on each side the trio). So adorable! That fox’s face is priceless.
WIP Update
Since I was on the road most of the week, I did not have the opportunity to work on very many projects.
Let’s Talk Winter Pillow by Hands on Design
While I am anxious to finish this project, with the short month I could only dedicate one day to this WIP. Believe it or not, I am probably halfway done with this project. Sadly, I will be putting this one away until it is called by WIPGO. The good news, I bet I will finish it when that happens! I love the colors that Cathy has picked. My personal color preferences are very close to hers.
July Truckin Along by Stitching With The Housewives
I keep plugging away at this last in one of my first series to stitch. I realized last night when I was working on this, that I actually made some great progress with only working on this once a month. I never added this to the WIPGO bingo because I figure I will actually finish this long before it would be called. This has to be one of the funniest borders I have stitched. It flows so well.
Upcoming Plans & Thoughts
This was how my week felt! I couldn’t resist sharing this quote that I found today.
Now that I am home, I am taking stock of which WIPs I have left to work on with what is left of this very short month (although longer than some Februarys).
- Need to finish my last two days working on Shabby Winter Calendar before putting away until next winter.
- Mr. August needs his one night this month as well.
- Snow Village one time for February
- December Snapshot one time for February
- Start & Finish January Year of Celebration Season 2
- Start & Finish January Monthly Markings
- Last time on WinterTime
Barely enough days left to even attempt this. Wish me luck! Hope you all have a great weekend. We are enjoying the sunny weather before the next storm which is suppose to arrive next weekend. I plan on enjoying the sun while I can!
Peggy Stockwell fresh from a 14 hour drive from Seattle to San Jose 😊🛻
Glad you had a good visit! Where did you hike? That mint opalescent Aida is wonderful, I just put it on my Wishlist at FQS. Love the WinterTime stitching!
