Hi Everyone! Hope you have had a great week. I was more productive than I expected. So excited to share with everyone.
Starts & Finishes
I had no new starts this week but I sure was delighted to have two finishes.
FINISH: Oracle Quaker Halloween by Oracle Tales
I worked for three nights to wrap up this project that I started in 2022. It felt nice to finally finish. While I am not disappointed in the finish, it doesn’t quite look like what I had in my head.
My favorite thing to stitch with this projects was teh scattering of words throughout which I decided to stitch a different orange each time. That cute little cat was also a highlight for me. This project was stitched on 14 ct cobweb by Fabric Flair using mostly black (DMC 310) with touches of grays and oranges from my stash.
FINISH: Let’s Talk Autumn by Hands on Design
Another one that I realized I was so close to finishing so I once again worked on wrapping up with Sweater Weather, Pumpkin Patch, and all those cute leaves. I just love how it turned out.
This project was stitched on 16 ct black aida with the called for DMC floss. It was nice to finish all three projects. So I pulled out the fabric to be able to start finishing these projects. I am excited to start on these soon.
WIP Updates
I spent so much time on my finishes above that I did not work on as many other WIPS. Let me share what I did work on.
Autumn Baskets (chart 1) by Hands on Design
I really got into working on this on Tuesday. I really didn’t want to put it away. These colors are soooo interesting. This will eventually be a quilty star. Love it! I am looking forward to finishing this one.
WIPGO Project: 2023 San Jose Temperature Butterflies by Stitchin Mommy
Whoohoo! I finished the November butterfly outline. I only have the December outline left to do. My goal is to finish all the outlines then start filling them in. I am hoping to finish all four outlines AND the September and October butterflies.
Upcoming Plans & Thoughts
This weekend will be a hockey weekend. On hockey weekends I usually take only one project. I have decided to take my other WIPGO project – Let’s Talk Summer. It should be fun and easy.
Projects that I have on my radar to work on this week are:
- Let’s Talk Summer
- Fruit of Plenty
- Snowman Collector
- Temperature Butterflies
- November Sampler of the Month
- Fall Harvest
I have also started thinking about what Temperature project I want to do for 2024 (because I have enjoyed this year’s) and I think I would love to do the bookshelf. I am going to start planning for that which means that I would like to do the bookshelf outline during January.
I also need to start looking at what other projects I want for 2024. I saw the new series that Cottage Garden Samplings is doing with the houses. I really like them but I don’t think I would do them as one project, but as individual projects. Also thinking about doing another small project series or two. Looking at what I have to see what is catching my interest. One is Year of Celebrations 2 and the other is a Heart in Hand series that looks cute that a couple of years ago I saw done as one project that I think would be adorable.
I love the planning part of this. I have been putting together my digital planner for next year. I finally found the perfect one for me!
Everyone enjoy your weekend and we will chat next week!

Your Halloween and Let’s Talk Autumn finishes are both so pretty! I’m looking forward to seeing how you do a bookshelf temperature project – your temperature butterflies are really nice. I think I enjoy planning the most! Have a wonderful Thanksgiving.
