If you didn’t see my recent post, I had website issues and vacation that kind of put a kink in all my plans. So this will be a catchup post.
I had a mother/daughter weekend in Seattle first weekend this month. We had a spa day and watch NCAA gymnastic at the University of Washington. It is always fun to watch people you know!
The next weekend had us flying off to Kauai, Hawaii with my grandson and his auntie (my daughter) for fun in the sun. I have never been there in April so I wasn’t sure what to expect. Of course since it is spring, it did rain but not too bad. We had lots of relaxation and fun with plenty of good food. Since we were having so much fun, I only worked on one project that week.
Fruit of Plenty Sampler by Modern Folk Embrodiery
I diligently have been plugging away at this project all month. I really really want to finish the pattern page from March. I am so close….. I think I will actually finish it this week and maybe even get started on April page.
Mr February, A Calendar Gnome by Charlie’s Needle
While I took this to Hawaii, I mostly worked on this in Seattle and some this week. I felt good finishing the gnome himself. I absolutely love the CCW Jelly Roll color. It is a beautiful variation of pink/purple. I have finished the little birds at the bottom of the mailbox and hope to finish the mailbox this week.
Prim Stitch by Lori Holt
I finally started block 7 of this project and was thrilled to have finished the church during the week leading up to Hawaii. I had as a goal to finish this block during April. We shall see.
Let’s Talk Winter (lg) by Hands on Designs
It would be nice to wrap up this project during April as I will be putting it away (if I don’t finish) this month. I only have two sections left – snow globe and cozy quilts. I just love this project. I got all the thread in to start Spring so it is kitted up.
March Cottage of the Month by Country Cottage Needleworks
The hard part is done so this is definitely on my wish list to finish in April. I didn’t get as much contrast with my greens on the house, but it still looks pretty good. Just have the top and bottom border and of course the Month name to stitch.
Just My Type by Fat Quarter Shop
I really like stitching this one. I finished the typewriter and have almost finished the paper. I think those are the hardest parts. I am very happy with my fabric and thread choices. I totally went off script with this one.
March Snap Shot by Pine Mountain Designs
Last I was able to finish the first of 3 pictures – the kite. I took on vacation but never actually worked on this until I got home this week. It went pretty quick which was nice.
Recap
I haven’t finished or started anything new yet this month. I had on my list to finish three, maybe four projects, and to start six new ones. Wish me luck! LOL! I started April with 20 WIPS.
Hope everyone has a great weekend. It is super nice to finally be home for a few weekends in a row after being gone half the month. My brother is coming to visit in May and we will be taking a three day trip to Wine Country. I am looking forward to it!
