This week according to plan in regards to my cross stitch. After all the other detours in my life, it was so nice to have this go so smoothly.
Starts & Finishes
No new starts this week. One finish.
FINISH: May Year of Celebration by Hands on Design
This was finished on 16 ct dirty aida with the called for DMC, Classic Colorworks, and Weeks Dye Works except for CCW Tangerine was substituted for WDW Bittersweet. I was online today and say that Bittersweet is finally in stock (after 3 months) so I placed an order. i think my favorite part were the butterflies! Started and finished in May. How Sweet it is!
FINISH: April Butterfly in 2023 San Jose Temperature Butterflies by Stitchin Mommy
For the first time this year, I had some oranges and a red. I am loving stitching this every month. I do worry about my range being enough for the San Jose area.
WIP Updates
Really made a push to finish the butterfly so I didn’t work on as many different projects this week. I was able to stitch something every day this week.
Just My Type by FQS It’s Sew Emma
Reached my goal this month which was to finish everything on the left side of the heart. The light and dark aquas from Weeks Dye Works are the same exact colors I am using in my Modern Folk Embroidery. I just love these colors! At the end of the month, I will need to decide do I push through to a finish or put away since this is obviously a Valentine snack.
Mr July – A Calendar Gnome by Charlie’s Needle
I realize that working on this project only once a month is the reason this one is going so slow. I had hoped to finish the stack of boxes this month but I only planned on working on it once. We shall see if I can squeeze any more time in on this one. I do like it and think the eagle will be so cute when I finally add his eyes.
Big Hearted Tiny Town by Heart in Hand
This is another valentine stitch that I am still working on. This one I know I am not putting away. I will keep it out until it finishes. I am almost completely done with the right side which means I am almost half way. Looking good!
WIPGO PROJECT: Autum Beauties by FQS It’s Sew Emma
I was definitely over optomistic thinking I would finish this one during its WIPGO month. There is too much coverage for that to happen. I have now worked on it 3 out of the 5 planned nights. My current goal is to finish page 2 by end of month. I got my fingers crossed.
Upcoming Plans & Thoughts
I will be home all week again. I just have to deal with a homeowner’s situation, otherwise, plenty of time to stitch.
- Finish August Snap Shot
- Finish Butterfly Dreams
- Work on Modern Folk Embroidery twice this week to wrap up my May goal
- Work on WIPGO project: Autumn Beauties for the fourth time (goal is five)
- Work on Snowman Collector – The Needleworker
- Work on Let’s Talk Spring framed chart one last time before putting away until next year.
- Work on Sail Away
- Re-evaluate if I am close to finishing another project. If so make a push to wrap up in May.
Placed an order today to pick up the charts that I don’t have from the Snowman Collector Series. I watched another Floss Tube today of someone else planning on doing Pumpkin Lane next year. I really like that one. It has a Pumpkin House, Butternut House, Cinnamon house. I may pick up the patterns soon, but I will not be starting it until I finish Snow Village.
I did a few walks this week and just couldn’t help taking flower pictures.
I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.
