Hello my Stitchy Friends! This is being published late on Sunday (instead of Friday). The week has been a full week of activities. Busy. Busy. Busy again…
New Starts & Finishes
No new starts or finishes for this week. So moving on to WIPs.
WIP Updates
Moving on to my WIPs…. I ended up stitching my WIPGO projects twice this week and am ready to share how far I got so far.
OCT WIPGO #1: Quaker Happy Holidays by OracleTales

I really got a lot done this week. I finished the tree and the reindeer. Super pleased with my progress. I am using silk thread. I do not remember whose silk it is. I had forgotten how working with red/green variegated can be such a pain but love working with the silk! The goal is to work on 5 times during October. Two down and three to go.
OCT WIPGO #8: HOD Ornament Club: Merry Moments #3 by Handson Design

Made some fantastic progress this week. I worked on it twice! I only have a little less than 700 stitches left to finish. Super excited to be so close.
Corny by Teresa Kogut

Stitching is going slowly on this linen piece. I am a slow stitcher on linen and this linen is 36 ct coffee stain linen. Luckily, the linen is pretty stiff which makes it better for stitching and easier to count. Plus this piece has a lot of neutral floss on neutral cloth. Light and reading glasses are on hand. But it is one of the reason I jumped to stitching the dk brown corn pieces. The corn is filled in with lighter shades but at least it is easier to see. I was pleased that even with my slow stitching, I finished my 400 stitch goal! 🥳
Snowman Collector: The Scarecrow by Cottage Garden Samplings

I am working on number of 5 (of 12) in the series. This will be a scarecrow. I got tired of working on the wheat so I found myself finishing the pole and starting on the actual scarecrow. I only did 200 stitches this week. I hope to get back to it later in the month.
Fabulous House: The Castle by Cottage Garden Samplings

The night I worked on this one, I had a lot more time available to stitch and exceed my400 stitches goal by 200! This week I was able to finish the rook tower and begin working on the “waves”. I really enjoy stitching Cottage Garden Samplings charts. The motifs within the design make it interesting to stitch.
Plans & Reflections
For the first time in a long time, I actually worked on what I planned to work on this past week. The only thing I didn’t do was finish the ornaments Sweets for Santa. I started watching the finishing video. Wander off to collect supplies then got sidetracked 🐿️
So I am thinking this week will be:
- Finish Sweets for Santa
- OCT WIPGO project: Oracle Quaker Happy Holidays
- OCT WIPGO project: HOD Merry Moments Ornament: Plaid Tidings
- Start my Hello Liz Matthew chart from last year: Passing Through
- Shabby Winter Calendar
- Climbing Goat Designs: Fieldguide to Dragons
- Hands on Design: Make Today Count
Happy Mail
I received my shipment from 123 Stitch which included lots of wool choices, trim, and mat boards. Some very pretty colors. I already received from amazon most of the other items I needed to make my next drum. I don’t have another drum finish on the calendar. I think it would be cool to finish my Frosty Tiny Town for January.
So that is a wrap for this week. I thank you for stopping by and look forward to your visit next week!
