Welcome back my stitchy friends! It has been crazy busy week as I have spent time indulging my inclination to learn. I just love to learn! I haven’t learned any new things about cross stitch this week, just enjoyed the process on making little “x”s.
Starts & Finishes
I only had one new start this week. Starting is always the hardest thing for me. This is one of the reasons I have recently been starting projects that have been on my bucket list.
START: Monthly Square Dance: July by Heart in Hand

I got started on my July square this week. I almost finished but got too tired and went to bed. Tonight for sure. While I like the fish square, I kept thinking of it as June instead of July. I am definitely pleased that I decided on a 3×4 banner.
WIP Updates
I worked on several of my projects. It was a good week.
WIPGO Project #5: Fabulous House: The Castle by Cottage Garden Samplings

My castle is filling out nicely. I now have windows even. Just loving the colors and the patterns on the castle. I reached my goal for this project of 2000 stitches.
WIPGO #22: Calendar Gnomes: Mr. April by Charlie’s Needle

The Gnomes body is a Classic Colorworks Cottage Gardens. My skein is a bit pale for my liking. It is hard to see the beard. Overall, it is coming along nicely. Started stitching the hatching chick. I finally finished the 1000th stitch of 2000 stitch goal. Still holding my breath and hoping to finish before end of month.
JAN WIPGO #7: 2025 SJ Moon Phases by Climbing Goat Designs

I forgot to take a picture of the whole project but here is some photos of my progress on August. I am just getting to the very hot days.
Penguin Advent SAL with Climbing Goat Designs

I pulled out this project one evening. This is a circular design and I would guess I am about 60% done. I still have a few Christmas projects out this month. I will have to decide if I want to keep them out. Food for thought.
Snowman Collector: The Postman by Cottage Garden Samplings

The snowman is now complete. Time to begin working on the bicycle. This designer is becoming a favorite of mine. I just love the small details in her designs. If I wasn’t so ADHD, I could see me working several days on this one. So much fun!
That wraps up my current wips I have been working on it.
March WIPGO Projects

The numbers for March came available this week. I will share with you what those are for me. I have been doing 2000 stitches for each of WIPGO projects.
Project #3: House on Pumpkin Hill by Hello Liz Matthews

I took a peek at how many stitches are left on this project. There is just 1551 stitches left so my goal for March will be to finish!
Project #4: Snowman Collector: The Postman by Cottage Garden Samplings

Crazily enough, there is only 1884 stitches left to finish The Postman. So once again the goal will be to finish it in March. I feel like this one has gone quick. So excited to finish my fourth of tweleve.
Plans & Reflections

With only two more days left in February, it appears I am going to fall short of my February goals. I have kind of gotten use to achieving all of my cross stitch goals. Does this mean I have gotten more optomistic with my goals or do I have less time to work on my cross stitch projects?
After pondering on that thought, I have to agree that it is probably both. Picking up a long ago hobby – paper crafting – after so many years and learning to use the new tools available has absorbed a bit of my attention. The same with spending more time on my health with exercise, nutrition, and self care. I just have to remind myself to be more conservative with monthly goals. 🐿️
Plans for This Coming Week
I haven’t finalized my March goals yet, but I have pulled out things I want to work on. I will start with those this first week.
- Crescent City Velaris
- Winter Camper
- Finish July Square Dance
- Start 2026 temperature stitch: 2026 Solar System
- Start Ocean Wonders SAL
- Mr. April
- 2025 SJ Moon Phases
- Shabby Winter Calendar
Going to leave it at that for now. My mind is already starting to think about March and what I want to work on. I joined a few different SAL this year but haven’t started any of those projects. #sigh. I also started pulling out my spring WIPS.
Have a great weekend everyone! May you find peace in every stitch.
