Floss Friday #167

Welcome back my stitchy friends! Been a busy week and I am looking forward to sharing what I have done for the week. Let’s get to it!

Starts & Finishes

I had one start and one finish this week which was exciting.

FINISH: Snowballs for Sale by Lori Holt (Bee in my Bonnet)

Finally finished stitching this one. It has been four years in the making! It is stitched on 25 ct prim lugana using all the called for DMC with a 12 x 9 finished size. Now it is time to decide on a final finish for this one!

START: Winter Gatherings: Snow Folk by Friendstitch

I wanted to get this one rolling. I am starting in the middle of this chart. I chose to stitch on 16 ct vintage country mocha. There is a companion piece that I have bagged with this one as they use all the same colors. I love snowmen!

WIP Updates

I got some time in on almost everything I wanted with a focus on my WIPGO projects.

WIPGO Project #2: Shabby Winter Calendar by Cuore e Batticuore

I spent several nights this week working on this one. Finally finished Day 20 with the cup of hot chocolate. Totally loved it. Got started on the final day which is the “footer” of this calendar.

WIPGO Project #7: 2025 SJ Temperature Moon Phases by Climbing Goat Designs

I wrapped up July! I set a lofty goal of finishing through August. Hmmm. Good luck to me! Looking at the overall picture, it looks very cool (like cool temps). Kind of a neat chart though.

Crescent City Velaris by Woven Wild Crafts

Finished my 400 monthly goal on this. I am not sure how smart it was to go down instead of across, but there you have it. I am stitching on 18 ct cobalt aida with the called for DMC threads. Very cool full coverage chart.

Winter Camper by Bobbie G Designs

I worked on the snowgirl with the cardinal. When I finish this then it will be time to do all the backstitching and french knots. We are on the home stretch. This is my oldest project left to stitch.

February 2026 WIPGO

February 2026: Projects 5 & 22

Numbers have been pulled and these will be interesting projects to work on.

February 2026 WIPGO Project #5: Fabulous House: The Castle by Cottage Garden Samplings

We just started this one in January so this is great to get some extended time on this project. It is so cool the texture of the castle. The goal will be 2000 stitches for the month. It is being stitched on 18 ct stone aida with called for floss.

February 2026 WIPGO Project #22: Calendar Gnome: Mr. April by Charlie’s Needle

This one would be coming up soon anyway, so it looks like we will be jumping back into this one. I am setting a goal of 2000 stitches. It is being stitched on 28 ct wren lugana with called for floss.

Plans & Reflections

January has gone quickly. It seems like we just had Christmas. I am lucky that I get to stitch most evenings and for several hours. January I had some lofty goals which included a bunch of new starts. There is two days left in the month but whatever is left I can just roll into February.

I have pulled some valentine themed projects to start in February. I don’t have any in my WIP pile currently. The plan is to continue stitching my winter stitches and to add a few with hearts.

January Goals Left
  • 2025 SJ Temp Moon Phases through August 31st 🙄
  • Finish Shabby Winter Calendar
  • Start 2026 Washington Temperature Solar System
  • Start 2026 Ocean Wonders SAL
  • Winter Camper
  • Start July Square Dance
  • Start Friendstitch Snowflake
  • Start Friendstitch mini bag

Hmmmm. A lot left for the month. We shall see how it goes.

Have a great weekend everyone!
