Hello my Stitchy Friends! Welcome back to this week’s update on my cross stitch projects. The week went fairly well if a bit disorganized. 🤪 Not sure what is going on there. I have sketched out my plan for January, but haven’t found the time to organize it. So I ended up focusing on my WIPGO projects this past week. Here we go….
Starts & Finishes
I surprised myself with a finish this week – only one – and no new starts. (That is not a surprise. 🤪)
FINISH: Pop of Christmas by Bent Creek

I got little obsessed with finishing this one this week. Some times these just seem to fly off the hoop and other times … well it takes me a few days. While I found nothing difficult with this chart, it seemed to take FOREVER. I loved making the little gingerbread man.
It is stitched on 20 ct linen with pearl cotton(#5 I think). I enjoyed it immensely.
WIP Updates
While I did obsess over several projects, thus worked on them multiple times this week. I still made a point to work on my WIPGO projects for 2026.
WIPGO #2: Shabby Winter Calendar by Cuore e Batticuore

I worked on Day 19 this week. I hope to finish it tonight. I am not sure what kind of white flowers these are. Lilies? Anyway, they are pretty. The scene reminds me of the rose in Beauty and the Beast. I can’t believe how close I am to finally finishing this one.
The goal is to finish this during January. I am hoping it happens!
WIPGO #7: 2025 SJ Temperature Moon Phases by Climbing Goat Designs

My goal is to stitch July & August this month. That would mean I should be finished through July 16th. I made it to July 11th. Hmmm. Definitely can tell we had a very warm summer in San Jose. This will be my last San Jose temperature project. So crazy right to think that.
Fieldguide to Dragons by Climbing Goat Designs

I am currently working on the green dragon. I got in his entire wing span but am now focusing on his right wing. Fun stitch. Sometimes I wish I could stitch all day but then I wouldn’t get to do all the other creative things I love to do. My friend Mary Elizabeth is stitching this one as well. If she sends me a picture, then maybe I can share where she is already.
2025 Penguin Advent SAL by Climbing Goat Designs

I squeezed in some time to work on this. Once again, my friend, Mary Elizabeth and I signed up for this. I made a mistake when I started. The black fuzzies on my snowman is from that mistake. Makes me sad, but what’s a little dirty snow? Still pretty darn cute I think.
Winter Stitching Season by Stitching with the Housewives

I pulled this one out of the vault. Last year I got a few stitches in just so it could be started. So glad I did. It was nice picking up and working on it. I love this cream as snow. This series has three houses and this is the roof of the center house. You can guess what the signage says right? Hot ……
Plans & Reflections

I got some happy mail that I have not even opened yet this week. I ordered fabric and floss for the upcoming starts for January. A new SAL begins with Climbing Goat Designs January 15th. I also have my first Vancouver Temperature stitch from Climbing Goat Designs – Solar System which I am very excited to start. This one should be easier. Meanwhile….
Plans for this week
- 2025 SJ Temperature Moon Phases
- Finish Day 19 of Shabby Winter Calendar

I have work to do for my two starts this week. They need to be kitted up asap. I also need to review my Friendstitch projects and pull at least two to work on. I think I have all the materials, I just need to kit and put on the calendar.

These cuties have had a busy week. They wanted to make sure to tell all of you hello!
Have a great weekend everyone!
