Time is zipping past at the speed of light. I got my second Covid-19 shot today. In another 2 weeks, I should be 95% protected. Of course everyone wants you to keep doing the masks and everything. I just want to get back to normal and quit living in fear.
I made some progress on everything in the past four weeks as well as started a new small project. Let’s get ya’ll updated!
1920’s Farmer’s Wife Quilt Update
It felt good finishing up block 45 above. I did have to refer often to the diagram in the book to make sure I had my HST turned the right way. Nothing about this block ever clicked for me. I sure do love how beautiful it turned out though.
I was on a roll on Sunday when I was working on this block. I finished the first half of this four color block fairly quickly. Some how while working on this I lost two triangle pieces in my truck. I spent almost 30 minutes then looking for it and again on Monday. So I will have to undo the two pieces I sewed so I can trace and make the small triangles again as I do not have spare paper pieces. A bit frustrating when I think about it so I prefer not to think about it!
This block will be a transistion block in my colorwash quilt with orange, yellow, white and green pieces.
Lost & Found Quilt by Paperpieces.Com Update
I finished up the last round on Block 16 this month and started on Block 17. I also am in the process of basting block 18!
Ruby’s Double Diamond Garde Quilt Update
I was able to finish block 14 this month and start block 15 already. Block 16 is basted and ready to go!
New Hexagon Potholder Update
One weekend I decided I need to get my darn potholders appliqued and quilted. I experimented with different ways of quilting them. I think I like the spiral better than the rounds. I just need to bind these puppies to have another finish!
NEW: 8 Pointed Star for Potholders
If you read last week’s, I think I mentioned this project. My sister wants all gray potholders so I decided to do a paper pieced star in two shades of gray on a gray background.
Wrap Up
It felt really good finishing up 3 blocks over the past month during hockey. We leave this weekend for a hockey tournament so I need to prep what I am going to take. I don’t think I should take everything but that will end up being a last minute decision.
This week Nala has been pretty good. I have not spent as much time in the sewing room as week’s past but she still wants to be involved in whatever I am doing. Today we are doing laundry to get ready for Salt Lake City.
Thanks again for reading all of my rambling. I hope you found something to help or inspire you. Until next week!
