I have been a little distracted this past month. Last weekend we were in Salt Lake City for a hockey tournament. I brought along both cross stitch and EPP. Both the plane and the hotel room was a bit crowded and not really conducive to getting stuff out which was a bit disappointing. Here I thought I was going to make all this progress but we were running around with not a lot of free time.
FINISH: February Cottage of the Month by Country Cottage Needleworks
These are so cute and I was able to wrap this up before the end of March which allowed me to start some April projects below.
FINISH: Mr March, A Calendar Gnome by Charlie’s Needle
This one took a lot of Black thread but I do love how the daffodils and horseshoe really stands out. And that rainbow is awesome!
April Snapshot by Pine Mountain Designs
I am enjoying this series. So far I have had to only skip one month (March). Depending on how it goes, I may end up starting March if May doesn’t arrive soon. I just need to finish up the bunnies then I will be moving on to the last section. I would assume I should finish before the end of the month.
April Sampler of the Month by Country Cottage Needleworks
I have only got to spend one night stitching on this one so there is not a lot of progress. Now that Mr. March is finally finished I will spend more time stitching on this one.
Prim Stitch Series by Lori Holt : Update
I finally finished the 4th square and now am working on the border again before starting the 5th square. I received in the mail #11 this week. Pretty soon I will have the complete pattern.
Modern Folk Embrodiery SAL 2021: Update
I am still working on the January release. LOL! I guess this will go the same as any other project and be multi-year. Because there is only two colors, it was project of choice for travel. I just wished I had more time to work on it while I was gone.
Serendipity SAL by Fat Quarter Shop: Update
This is actually an easy stitch. Four releases have been made since March and I am happy to say I have finished one and two already. This has definitely been an easy stitch.
PULL OUT: Butterfly Dream by Dimensions
I have started filling in blank spots in the flowers and butterfly. This was my first cross stitch project. It will be sweet to finish this one.
START: Fresh Cut FQS Quarterly Stitch Club
I have almost finished the first row of this cute stitchy project. I just need to add some green.
START (SOON): May Truckin Along by Stitching with the Housewives
I have been waiting to start these May project in an effort to finish up my current March project in progress. Since I finished the last March project last night, the plan is to start this one this week.
START (SOON): May Cottage of the Month by Country Cottage Needleworks
Before monthend, I plan to start this one as well. I can’t remember if I already pulled the thread or not. It does look really fun with those lovely blues.
Wrap Up
I have been slowing down signing up for monthly clubs or buying more charts. Although, I did sign up for Stitching with the Housewives Calendar Crates club with Fat Quarter Shop. July arrived this week. It seems to have two parts to it to be stitched seperately. I am hoping to see someones on IG before I start mine.
I hope you have enjoyed this update as much as I enjoy sharing it with you. Until next week!
Peggy
Hi Peggy! All your wonderful and fun projects really amp me up for picking up cross stitching again. It is a great craft to bring with you although I have to have good light to be able to do it successfully. I would think the EPP would be a better choice, at least for me. {{Hugs}} Enjoy your weekend. ~smile~ Roseanne
HI Roseanne! EPP is still my project of choice for travel. But I have started bringing just one cross stitch project with me while I brought 3 EPP projects. I am always in the process of cutting or gluing the next blocks of my EPP so I bring the cross stitch just in case I “run”out of things to do – LOL! That has never happened since the first time. I also find that EPP is generally more relaxing when I am traveling with the hockey team because I can talk and sew at the same time. Not so for the cross stitch.
